I agree with kolz. If you're still starting to learn, 400D would be the best. Anyway, all Canon lenses would fit the 400D & the 30D. I know a pro photographer that got the 400D over the 30D, he said that the price was more appealing and he would just upgrade to 30D when the price will drop.

Get the EF 50mm f/1.8 lens sad. Very sharp!

@ivan ... i got the 400d over the 30d because...  for me the 30d is not worth its price. i had a 20d and could not justify upgrading to 30d with only a larger LCD, spot metering, picture style as its improvement... it uses exactly the same sensor as the 20d... might as well wait for the next upgrade of this camera. the 400d is well worth its price... the same features as the 30d except for the spot metering and the 5.5fps continuous shooting mode... of course you'll get the plastic body for the price, but hey it has its good side too as it decreases the weight over the 30d, and you get a newer sensor that gives you 10mp.

if you can wait until march, you might want to go for the replacement of the 30d

And the biggest plus for the 400D sir ..... The Anti-Dust mechanism!!! .. this is reason enough to buy the 400D over the 30D ...

although the anti-dust feature and 9 point AF sounds alluring..there's nothing can beat the power of a hand blower (like what Mark Yap's selling), the extra AF point also is only good for lens w/ f2.8 aperture or faster.

the external status LCD is also unbeatable when it comes to functionality and saving battery power.

I would have not chosen 350D if its newer sibling packs the latest DIGIC III image processor.

IMHO (I'm still a newbie too), I think iya nah gi auto mode dats y mura cya underexposed. but if you play around with the ISO, the scene would be brighter.
