There is also a gene that determines a person's height.

Sa ato pa, if that gene stops what its supposed ot do (i.e. give me more height), then you're going to say that my being just 5'3" is a "genetic disorder" of height?

See, this is what Gareb is pointing out--just because there is a lack of some gene that's supposed to do this or that, doesn't necessarily mean that it's automatically a "disorder"--it all depends on the vantage point, and again this is what Gareb is probably concerned about--what is the true viewpoint of this topic--from whose eyes are we looking through when we use the term "disorder"?

The answer is no. Because the gene you've mentioned above carries the genotype, an inherited/fixed instructions to make the body of that person achieve the height of 5'3''. In other words, the gene DID NOT STOP functioning. In fact, it did what it is supposed to do (that is, giving that person a maximum height of 5'3'').

The case of the genes involved in producing and absorbing testosterone is different. They carry the instructions to produce enough testosterone and fully masculinized the brain and body. But for some reasons, they were unable to execute these instructions or only executed them partially.

Why do we keep hitting on 'gay'? I mean c'mon there's more life can offer rather than just hitting on people.

Kidding aside, science was developed to improve the lives of mankind and not to destroy others...
if it only shows one side of the coin then, it is just to brainwash everybody into buying that theory.

FYI: a theory is a proposed conjectural explanation why a certain phenomenon occurs through scientific studies, until proven wrong...
