Actually it's the other way around... kay higher octane means mas lower ang chance nga mu predetonate ang fuel mixture... one protection against knock. Mao na engines with higher timing and compression (and especially those boosted engines) usually needs higher octane fuel to prevent knock from killing the engine.

The Bajaj CT100 doesn't really need higher octane than the usual unleaded gas available from stations since the piston compression is only 10.2. Filling it up with higher octane fuel would just cost you more without any real performance gain.

bai norrissee, nakatry lagi ko gas up gamit sa kanang 95RON sa total one time mga late last year. Kay nice lagi nang 1000 pesos + 1liter free.
Gamit nako usually is petron xcs (95 sad). Pag gamit nako, knock lagi grabe ako makina. I had to load an octane booster para mabalik. 95 ba jud octane rating ana?

Di gyud pareho ug timpla ang mga fuel from different brands ug lalisonon pa ning mga RON rating figures nila. Mas maayo kung naay regulating body mag monitor sa different brands kung misubay sa RON rating pero iyahay ra ni sila ug panindotay ug advertise.

To test for another fuel, better refuel only kung hapit na gyud mahurot or near red line na ang fuel tank then pa refuel ka around 10liters or worth 500pesos lang una sa bag-ong testingan nga fuel. In case palpak gani ang performance in combination with your current car setting, pwede ra na nimo ma adjust ang imong ignition timing setting (kung available pud) to adopt to the new fuel or just go to your suking gas station for a full tank refuel sa tested fuel nimo before aron masagolan (malasaw or ma dilute) ang ni palpak nga fuel para mawagtang ang palpak nga effect. Never gyud mag full tank derecho from almost empty kung mag testing lang unless willing ka mo unload sa tanang fuel from your fuel tank kung di maapas ug ignition timing resetting.

Tig testing ko ug different fuel brand and RON rating, kadaghan na pud ko kasulay ug napalpak so kakita ko ug pamaagi aron di tanto mag-antos ug dugay sa palpak effect. hehe

Bai poy, did you reset your octane map memory sa ecu nimo? Basin na hinumdum niya imong old octane maps using your previous fuel that your engine is used to... usually kung mu tubil ko new kind of fuel ako man i clear ang octane map memory (or reset the ECU) then drive a few kms after para mu map cya balik using the new fuel.

Mao pud ni gamit nako nga method pag test sa Seaoil nga Extreme 97 sa una.

But normally I just fill up with super unleaded (cheapest) sa shell ... naa man gud ko rebates kay shell citibank card man hahahahaha
