i hope so too..but chances are slim due to the gravity of the offense..
i just hope our country will take this as an example...if taga China or other foreigners gani maka sala sa atong country, dire jd unta dapat i-priso..dba kitang mga Pinoy nga makasala pwede man didto sentensyahan, ngano dman kabuhat atong balaod ana against foreigners? mao ng nahimo tang kataw-anan sa uban kalibutan kay mahadlok man atong government mu-impose sa atong balaod against foreign nationals nga maka sala dire...priso lang kadali, usahay sa embassy pa prisohon then deport..bulok jd ang justice system nato..way ayo jd..![]()

There is another side to the story man pud. These Filipinos work in China for meager wages to escape the even meager opportunities in our country. Then somebody comes along offering huge sums of money to deliver "packages." The prospect of easy money to help themselves and relatives in our country is just too much to refuse...
But they should refuse it, knowing what country they in and knowing fully well what the consequences are. You don't fool around in a country like China.. they are dead serious about these things and have no compassion at all for criminals whatever the reason for their criminality.
Even the female CEO of a large milk manufacturer was sentenced to death for being negligent on the melamine scandal. What more if drugs are involved...
Do not mess with China, period.
i understand your sentiments bro..that these Filipinos are working for meager wages, but sometimes they have to remember that getting too much for less effort is fishy, not to mention dangerous dba...Yeah it can help their family financially, but what if they're caught and worst, sentenced to die away from the country(just like what's happening now)? They should have thought about it before biting the bait, now their family will be back to nothing kay wala nay mag support nila...
it's just sad that some of our countrymen(up to now) will do anything for easy money no matter how dangerous the consequences might be...
If America could not bully Singapore and Malaysia into stopping execution of its citizens convicted of drug offenses, what more can the Philippine government do to force China's hand. The fate of these drug mules was sealed the moment the case went to court. China has a 99% conviction rate, and never in its history as far as I know have they ever reversed a death penalty. It is always applied.
