my heart's broken hearing the news about coral reefs being destroyed. wala juy puangod mga tawhana oi.. don't they have their own children who will benefit if we all would take care of nature. whew. it's such a dismay jud.![]()
that news is stupid i mean why didn't anyone notice them harvesting those black corals twice the size of manila?!!?! and not even 1 coast guard or people seen what are they doing?! i smell politics here..

Illegal fishing is the biggest environmental problem in the philippines; it is just toned down because the ones who are doing it are the politicians themselves. congressmen mostly.
so, they are untouchables. as untouchable as the gambling lords.
they have their own hired killer to do their bidding (mostly cops).

because every day the boat is confiscated,
they lose the opportunity of earning big money.
one fishing boat would earn at least P150,000 on a bad day.
if they split it between the boat owner and the fisher (who gets the smallest part) and the fishnet-owner
They get P50,000 net a day. That's P1.5 million a month each.
Now is there a more lucrative business than this?
they are willing to pay off marine officers and navy officers just to look the other way.
every three months they change area.
The government should look into this.
