this is my main concern jud earlZ. i luv SAMOLED but sumtyms masuya ko sa galaxy S sa ako bro ky dako kaayo screen. hehe i guess i'll stick with this lng wave 1.

but i really like bigger screens. i dunno if enough to compansate ang 3.7 being the inferior

If you want big screens then go for the HTC Desire HD, thats 4.3" of goodness!

Wave I has Super Amoled but 3.3" screen size only, Wave II has Super LCD with 3.7" screen size.

The difference is SAmoled has High Saturation Colors (Over Saturated IMHO) and Wider Angle for Viewing.
The Super LCD has same brightness value with SAmoled but more in Natural color.

I tested both units side by side.

3.7" is still manageable to handle to type messages in one hand, but 4.0" - 4.3" or above is quite huge to handle in one hand operation...

Some Galaxy S units have over saturation in Blue/Green or Yellow/Orange, good thing the unit I got has a perfect color balance, nothing is over saturated IMO, but then again color is all about perception and preference.

Also black levles on the SAMOLED is far better compared to the S-LCD, I dont have the Wave II but I was able to use it for 2 days and was able to make a comparison with the screen quality, outright I preferred the SAMOLED screen but LCD has also its own advantages mainly the lifespan is significantly higher than OLED based screens.

Both units on max brightness the SAMOLED is about 80-90% brighter but who uses it at max brightness unless you are in direct sunlight.

I had a Wave I which had 3.3" display before moving to the Galaxy S I can still operate and send SMS with a single hand w/o any difficulties, infact I find it easier on the 4" screen. But I guess thats already attributed to the users fingers and not an actual size issue.

Physically the Galaxy S is only 4.4mm wider and 1.5mm shorter than the WaveII.. Phone size wise you cant tell the exact difference unless you measure both.

But if you already have the Wave I , I dont see much of a point in going to the Wave II unless screen size is the main objective here and also if you can sell the Wave I for a good price then why not?

If they only made the Wave and Wave II andriod devices this will pretty much pull down the prices for all other highend andriod devices and will probably make some of the competitors on the market close down haha!

well said bro.. Few years time, SAMOLED models like wave and galaxy S might become obsolete due to SAMOLED shortage.

Im not sure if SAMOLED is really in shortage because from what I've been reading on other forums people have been purchasing replacement screens online for about $70 maybe samsung released too many replacement screens thats why they are in shortage, from what I know SAMOLED Plus ( non pentile and 50% more pixel density.. pina retina ) will be the next gen display from samsung its already on the Infuse 4G.

i bought my wave II over wave I, i can type comfortably using portrait keyboard for 3.7" compare to 3.3". Second reason, wave I is a discontinued model na, so probably few years from if maguba ang Screen nga SAmoled what would be the replacement if samsung company stop the production sa Wave I.
