i think ur pertaining to mutual fund capital gain na walay tax..That's because the fund is already taxed whenever it acquires or sells securities. so naa ghapon tax.
VAT is applied on the sale load. if mag inter fund transfer pod ka, subjected to documentary stamp tax..

so na curious lang ko inyo giingon na walay tax less than 5 years nimo ang certificate.

yes wala, kay i believe nakabutang na sa management fee na every year, correct me if im wrong.
everytime u buy and sell stock naa tax, then ang mutual fund nga nag buy and sell stock na taxan gyud cya dba..nakabutang na cya sa NAV or sa management fee.

gawas kung sa mga municipal bond naka park kay walay tax, as far as i know.

there are different forms of taxes...

I think what you're implying nga dili ma-"taxan" ang MF is the withholding tax (the 20% mga savings and TDs). There is another form of tax (wherein I forgot the name) nga na-charge na sa MF but net na sa NAV... And since dili pud pwede double taxation, maong wala nay withholding tax ang MF... But if investor would prematurely exit this world, then that's another form of tax... Estate Tax... hehe

Basta daghang tax diri sa ato-a.. Sure nuon ko nga walay withholding tax ang MF compared to savings and TDs. As to UITFs... hmmmm? thinking mode...

di ko sure ani, kay once you open an account chargean naka ug 2% but specific ra to the fund you invested in. for example equity fund imo gi-open, mao ranay naa under your name, and if you want another, like a bond fund or balanced fund, then request napud ka to open.
