For me, basing on experience, kasuway naman ko ug ge tamay2x or ge curse2x bisan wala koy dautan nabuhat, curses are only harmful if you really intended to do harm towards that person. But, I guess if all you did is for the best and still that person misunderstood you due to his or her personal reasons, curses will not work.
Even without him or her uttering despicable words, there is negative karma, or "gaba^" that is probable to retaliate towards the wrong doer. What should hold the person's heavy thoughts is the arrival and intensity of the curse.
