kung kana na virus bai na mosud sa executable files(*.exe), wla jud gamet bsan pag imo e.disable imo autorun..kay mokoug mana ug dagan ang virus ana..pero dugay naman na nga virus...most of the antivirus makadetech na ana karon..pero kung ato lang egeneralise, i think dapat jud nimo edisable imo autorun kay basically mao mana kasagaran behavior sa virus..modagan thru autorun...

Ok, my AV quarantine all autorun files everytime I plug-in external drive and I think pariha ra ta, so no need for me to disable any settings. Originally Posted by crasj

This is the same as DOUBLE-CLICKING the drive from My Computer. (few people know that this is how it works)
less chance pa unta nga ma infected imong pc kung gi-disable nimo ang autorun kay inig explore nimo sa drive, maka kita man ka ug mga unusual nga mga files sulod (that is if nag show all files ka sa windows explorer) like an executable folder (folder ang icon pero executable diay to), autorun.inf nga hidden together with it's executable file virus.
sa case ni TS, dli bright ang AV sa iyang PC, maybe dli updated or dli wise, blah blah blah, na execute ang virus. so in this case, user must act like a genuine AV, doing the first line of defense from viruses that propagates through USB drives.
in my experience, dli reliable ang Free AVs for that types of viruses. maka detect lang ang ingon ana nga AV once na view sa explorer ang virus infected files or ang virus itself, that is by exploring. AVs is doing scans all the files currently being accessed. mkalagot ushay ni kay maka hinay sa pc. one known AV doing this is McAfee (on-access scan feature). bisag ang files gipang load or access sa programs/application kay ginascan permi. but i'm using a free AV from Microsoft.
btw, we still can't guarantee nga dli ma ka infect ang virus by exploring, kay it's possible self-executing ang virus when viewed in explorer. so far wla pmn nuon ko kasugat ug ingon ani nga virus so ayaw lang kabalaka. hihi. thanks to Microsoft for keeping file manager windows explorer secure from those types. but dli ghapon sure. anyway, it's just my pangagpas.
sa mga infected files, trabaho na na sa imong genuine AV.

i think most of the AV out there automatically quarantines autorun.inf after plugging in the flash drive.. so no need to disable it yeah bro moklo is right ^^. mrua gyud ko gapromote sa Comodo Internet Security da.. pero again, ari ra gyud ko nakauyon so far.. Originally Posted by moklo
