honda did it before way back in the late 1990s to early 2000s. they had CBR400s, 600 and honda Steed 400s on display in lahug but since the demand for these bikes was not that high back then they decided to scrap the idea of selling bigger machines and focus on their power products and lower displacement motorcycles.

you have a point. i for one don't see myself buying a sports bike anytime soon. what i want is a daily driver that's cheap to buy, fuel efficient and comfortable to ride. if it looks good too, that's just a plus for me.

i own a honda beat scooter (first mc ever) and its been good to me so far. its my daily companion and i hardly go anywhere without it. i've also been going on long rides with it (cebu to toledo via naga). its relatively cheap (i'm paying 90k for it though, damn installments), it's fuel efficent (35 to 38km/l for city driving, better mileage when at long drives) and it is comfortable to ride. its also very good for lugging a lot of stuff around (storage area at: foot rest, givi box and tied to the body. it does this better than u-bones or backbones, actually).

all of this i get from a scooter carrying the smallest engine among its competitors (108cc). its quick on its feet (or tires), its capable on traffic and on open roads, it can climb the mountains of naga and toledo while maintaining 60kph to 70kph (not that i do that too much. too many insane bus drivers sharing the road with me), i've recently ran through two hours of heavy rain on it and it hasn't blown up or failed me in any way so far.

that experience is from a scooter which is designed primarily for city driving. consider that and consider the CB110. the performance of this bike might just surprise a lot of people. i don't think its a waste, wrongly designed or whatever. i think its a clever design aimed at a very real need among commuters. i am very interested on the feedback from CB110 riders in the next few months/years and might just get one myself (if i can find the money, that is)

but the CB110s 110cc engine doesn't have a very heavy body or chassis to carry arround with unlike the BEAT. there is a big difference in terms of power over weight ratio.

its like a Hayabusa with 1.3L engine VS a VIOS with a 1.3L engine as well...

but opinions are opinions.. for sure all of these bikes are awsome! as wat a prev istoryan said, Honda's Engineers are not dumb to put a 110cc engine on a big bike chassis, surely they did something to the gear box on this to carry the weight.

but still.. u knw wat i mean...

yeah, i know what you mean, that sexy body is such a waste paired to that weak, 110cc engine. i get it too! but, question is, do you really need all that cc given the roads that we drive in?

its not a question of need.. (FOR ME) its a question of can it sustain?
y? ive been riding my 1981 HONDA XL100s since I was 17 YO, it has a 100cc with a XL125 carburetor, rebor to 1 point only, and its still platino. that was way back in college days.
the bikes route is just Labangon, and USC-Main.

one day, i took a bike ride to consolacion to visit my sister hus now living there, while riding, i notice that the bike is reving alot along a straight highway specialy near tabok until ABS LANE. its like its been on the most hagard ride the bike has. mka louy paminawn ky nag cge syagit ang motor along the way. specialy sa tungas na part.

its was just a small ENDURO chassis on a 100cc engine. imagine the CB110, with a big body and a small engine. im not saying it cant tungas mandaue, i knw this bike has the latest technology to get more horse power compare to my bike. but my point is, ul never know u have to take the bike in a long ride, and wen that comes.. thats the time ul be thinking, i should have gotten a bigger displacement. I know its not always but ul never knw. mind as well prepare. or get a bike that can handle everything.

thats y, wen i started working, i bought 2 bikes of 200cc and above displacement.
atleast to carry my demands on the road.

this does not goes with the CB110 lang, this goes to all bikes with big chassis and small engine.

pero ayos nani oy, for a japan bike, 69K price is ok considering its a bigbike look.
