here is my comparison..

Windows 7 is to Windows XP while Vista is to Windows ME...

And what happen to Vista is similar to the transition trend they have with Win98 to ME... Released a half baked XP in the form of Windows ME, then after a couple of months or years, released XP, in which stayed in circulation for almost 10 years...

After XP, they released VISTA, again a half baked Windows 7... Then after a year or so, MS released a much more stable OS in the form of Win7...

For me, it would be sound and reasonable to choose Win7 over Win Vista...

the clutter is still there its hidden by default... ive heard about rumours about longhorn after windows XP release sa MSDN group... i though ang Vista maoy longhorn then i was surprise half bake diay when i used windows 7... MS released vista immediately... ever wonder why it took them almost decade to release another after XP, Vista is like beta release for Windows 7... because win7 is very optimize.... actually win7 is like a modern car with a old reliable muscle car engine under its hood... with additional blings...
