nice shot bro.... but I have a question in my mind... is it a good or a bad omenwhat could be the meaning of this phenomenon??
Nice, i saw this last night around 6:30 + i have a pic on my cellfone not a good capture tho, but atleast![]()

saw this last night too.. but i was wondering why maklaro gihapon ang roundness sa moon bisag crescent siya.. tungod ba na sa brightness sa venus?
First of all, ask yourself--where do omens come from? Omens were create by malicious people wanting to use knowledge for their own twisted and vested interests...
Just think, thousands of years ago, when there was no such thing as science, a "holy man" who kept a record of such occultations (based on earlier monk's observations of the movements of the moon and planets), could have announced something like this:
"People of this town! Tonight, you should repent for your sins! If you don't, in a few minutes from now I will make that bright star disappear! as a sign of God's anger against you sinners!"
And maybe the people would just laugh at him, but then, he waves his hand towards the Moon and Venus, and suddenly, Venus disappears (as predicted by his notes)! And the people bow down and cry before him, because they are scared and want to repent for their sins...and gives money to the "holy man" as a form of indulgence! and thus, THE CONCEPT OF THE OMEN WAS BORN--it's a device used by malicious people long ago, to control the actions of people who were "not-in-the-know".
Science opens our eyes to the reality behind events that occur in the sky, and around us...now we are no longer fooled. There is no bad omen, there is no hidden meaning. It's just the laws of physics at work

A good question.
What you are seeing is called "planetshine" or in this particular case, "earthlight". That's actually light reflected off from the bright Earth, and reaching that darkened side of the moon.
