Ah too many. Im such a sucker for war and war theme movies.
My favorites:
They Were Expendable - Set in the Philippines US and Japanese, war is by sea.
Sahara - Allies VS. Germans set in the desert ends in a fight for water.
Saving Private Ryan
Dirty Dozen
Hiroshima - Story about Japan days before the Atomic Bomb was dropped. I find this movie disturbing when I was young 'cause of its apocalyptic feel.
In Harms Way - US Vs. Japan, John Wayne
Memphis Belle - US Vs. Germans, Air battle. My favorite Aerial WWII movie.
Manila, Open City - I remember this movie was a joint production by both US and Filipino with lots of casts. US VS. Japs
Biloxy Blues - War theme story about young recruits movie circles around Boot Camp
Patton - General Patton's campaigns during WWII. Set in Europe. Tank against Tank like Battle of the Bulge. Great movie.
The Longest Day - Like Private Ryan but bigger. Classic Film, Very good.
The Pianist - One of my all time favorite movie. Jewish musician trapped in war-torn Germany.
The Last Bullet - Much like Enemy at the Gates but between an Australian sniper and a Japanese sniper hunting each other. This is a very good movie. Better than Enemy at the Gates, come to think about it.
Stalingrad - Russians VS. Germans. Strange movie. Here you get to be on the side of the Germans not the typical Germans are the enemy movie.
Great Raid - Good war movie but Miramax didn't do much to promote this. Wa sad ni mu sikat diri, really sad. When we should promote movies like this instead of the crappy ones.
Empire of the Sun - About a rich english boy living in China during the Japanese occupation, reminds me of the Pianist. Very good Spielberg film.
many more just can't remember the title.
^^^ yeah maayo gyud si Steve Spielberg
