BARF is expensive but I feel in the long run if the dog has less health problems I will be saving money in vet bills. Ooops...I meant string beans...baguio beans...not beans like pork and beans. Sorry about that. The string beans don't make them utot more than they normally do.

As to time consuming, we shred enough vegetable mix for about a week and refrigerate. The chicken necks I buy already in 1 kilo bags cuz in my case I serve 1 kilo in am and 1 kilo in the pm. No doubt it is more time consuming but the dog benefits immediately.

I just adopted a 3 month old Aspin from the pound who is so small and emaciated. When she arrived at my house I gave her some Alpo soft food, mixed with rice, and she ate it cuz she was starving. Her poop was so soft and runny. So the next day, I started her immediately on BARF and today her poop was hard, no smell, and she was running around happy.

If too expensive the suggestion of mixing dog food with BARF might be better than nothing. But I would like the opinion of the BARF experts who have had their dogs on BARF longer than me and see what they think.

Nice ni nga thread. I'll try this one because my dog doesn't eat dogfoods. She's very picky. Thank you for sharing your information.

FYI: I just wanted to report that I think Robinsons reads this thread! hehehe
They are now selling the 55php per kilo chicken necks to 62.00 php per kilo! However, if you go to the Magnolia chicken section, they sell the chicken necks for 60.00 php per kilo. This is in the BTC Robinsons. Some of the people who work there told me that there are other people besides myself who are buying the necks for their dogs. So our demand for the necks raised their prices! Maybe we can all coordinate and do some consumer actions so that they lower it back to 55.00php hehehe!

This thread has been really helpful to me. Nena after seeing how healthy your pack is I am definitely going to start my pups on the BARF diet. You are absolutely right about it costing less for the pet owner in the long run. There are good deals in most of the grocery stores but if you have a suki in carbon or tabo-an then you can get even better deals!

wow! in my case i cant afford BARF foods and i think it really takes a lot of preparing those. is it really true dogfoods are considered as "junkfood"?. i have my shihtzu at home and he really eats a lot. he gains 1kilo a month and takes his vitamins. i only feed him 4 different kinds of branded dogfood and still his doing well so far. even my vet @ CVD was surprice when she weight my dog.
