    @Merman sorry bro your info is outdated i just read it kindly check the date cause its a false info labi na katong about railings kay old tech naman na ila so di na ta ka relate ato gamay nalang.

    You need to do a lot of reading, my friend. for starters, its not the manufacturer who tests their own psu and shout to the world that they are compliant to 80 Plus when it comes to efficiency of their respective power supply. The test is done by a third-party organization, one that has no bias. Also, the tests are done in a controlled environment to maintain accuracy and standards across different power supplies but sadly, the controlled temperature doesn't reflect real-world scenarios, let me quote them on that;

    5.6 Test Room

    As is specified in IEC 62301, the tests shall be carried out in a room that has an air speed close to the UUT of £ 0.5 m/s, and the ambient temperature shall be maintained at 23°C ± 5°C
    throughout the test. There shall be no intentional cooling of the UUT by use of separately powered fans, air conditioners, or heat sinks. The UUT shall be tested on a non-metallic, thermally non-conductive surface.

    You don't have to repeat yourself over and over again on the importance of the 12-volt rail because I understand both advantages and disadvantages on having a single rail and having multiple rails. If only you've read Jonny's splitting of the 12-volt rail, it doesn't really matter. The only reason why we have PSUs with multiple rails is because this was originally, Intel's ATX specification which aims to avoid burning components due to high amperage of the 12-volt rail.

    Instead of making a stand that going for a single 12-volt rail PSU is the way to go, I would suggest meeting these questions;

    * Does the PSU provide enough power for my machine?
    * Does the PSU have all of the connectors I require (6-pin for high end PCIe, two 6-pin, four 6-pin or even the newer 8-pin PCIe connector)?
    * If using SLI or Crossfire, is the unit SLI or Crossfire certified (doesn't matter if a PSU is certified for one or the other as long as it has the correct connectors. If it passed certification for EITHER that means it's been real world tested with dual graphics cards in a worst case scenario).

    Is the PSU rated at continuous or peak?
    What temperature is the PSU rated at? Room (25° to 30°C) or actual operating temperature (40°C to 50°C)
    If room temperature, what's the derating curve? As a PSU runs hotter, it's capability to put out power is diminished. If no de-rate can be found, assume that a PSU rated at room temperature may only be able to put out around 75% of it's rated capability once installed in a PC.

    Does the unit have power factor correction?
    Is the unit efficient?
    Is the unit quiet?
    Is the unit modular?
    Am I paying extra for bling?
    Do I want bling?

    aw sorry ang akoa gi mean is st50f es bai polds kay phase out na ang daan st50f
    ilisan man og st50f-es in which dili na modular

    and before ko ni post, nag check ko physically sa st50f-es nga stock namo hehehe

    mao akoa gi mean st50f-es sorry

    yup 100% sure ko ani

    @poldo ayaw pod kalimti ang mga protection bai, kay mao sad na main reason nganu palit kog branded

    labe na ang short circuit protection hehehe

  6. #36
    mao jud bai, ang mga protection jud ang nice sa branded PSU's; overload, overcurrent, short circuit, no load ug uban pang nga chuk-chak-chenes diha.

    daan pa jud lgi ko. so whats the difference man jud between the st50f and st50f-es aside from the rail config? why is the ES so much cheaper? wala kaayo ko macontento sa tubag ni FU na ang oem sa ES kay partly owned by SS mao masbarato. im sure theres another reason.

  8. #38
    ^ that's easy. tan-awa ang efficiency, ang original nga st50f is 80% at typical load while the new one is 80% from 20-100% load. cheaper siguro ang ES kay they've found ways to lessen the cost of production(?) mura ug processor ba, die-shrink.

    so mas better ang ES? dili kaha mas cheaper quality ang gigamit na materials sa ES? could it be possible? or same ra jud sa uban? kinsay nakaukab na diri ug ES?

    i'd say mas better jud ang ES in terms of efficiency and price. go for it bai, yaw kahadlok.
