    Default Re: Education E-Lamp, Inc.

I've been working at E-lamp since last year pa & regular na ko. Yes, mo teach ka ug Korean students online via webcam and headset. You can also do it part time.

Usually 6-10 pm ang part time (approx P5000 limpyo ang part time..no tax or sss deductions kay part time man lang). Ang full time: 7K basic, then 2.5 K attendance bonus, 1K transpo allowance, then performance bonus depending on number of students (ranging from P500-3500). You do the math.

Ako kay mga average of 18 students ko per month so ako bonus is mga 3K ako madawat. I think the others kay average 12-14 students... mga 2K siguro bonus ana. So in a month, mga 14K ako madawat. Kung naa ko absence, aw, mga 12K na lang.

Kung ma regularize ka, imo basic is mo increase, pati ang transpo allowance ma increasan sad.

From what I know, E-lamp offers the best deal here in Cebu City re compensation and teaching set-up for ESL teaching. I think gagmay jud sweldo sa ESL teachers nga person to person. Mas dagko kung sa online teaching. Makaingon ko nindot sa E-lamp kay i-train man ka(2 weeks w/ training allowance), then di na ka maghimog lesson plan, nay books basehan, di na ka magcompute ug grades ug mag check ug papel then maayo man sad ang technology ila gamit sa online teaching. Nice man ang office, tarong gyud siya (i admit tho nga medyo mohatsing ko usahay kay wa tingali ma maayog vacuum hehe). Ang kuwang ra siguro nila kay medicard. Wa pa sila ani nga benefit.

Ang labawng labad ani gyud is whether maka cope ba kag teach ug students nga bata nga deficient pa jud ug English. Nay uban brayt dali tudloan, nay uban murag zero pa gyud. Naa may adult students but murag mas daghan ang kids (from 5 yrs old above). Patience is a virtue jud. If impatient ka nga tawo, maybe this isnt the job for you hehe. Basta nay mga teacher dire sapoton gyud usahay kay napraning sa ila students' attitude or sa level sa English.

As with all the other orgs/companies, naa say defects diri. But ma work out ra man labi nag you are the type nga mo take initiative gyud and not just sit around and whine about it everyday. The mgmt knows how to listen man pod. And they are continually trying to adjust and make improvements in their own way.

If on orientation day they find you alanganin kay maybe you dont seem committed enough, or lack initiative, or maybe may problema sa the way you speak in English or lacking in confidence ka, mao nang textan ka nga ayaw na lang ug balik tomorrow.

Koreans tend to be vain, maong they emphasize the "looks good on cam" thing. You dont have to be pretty or handsome, basta presentable and limpyo/neat tan awn. Nay uban teachers dire di man ingon ug pretty or handsome gani. But they look ok on cam man. Koreans are observant and tend not to hesitate to point out defects, so careful gyud sa imo accent ug grammar tawn.

Sooo...I hope that covers allll your questions. He he... Syaro. Other questions, maybe sa interviewer na mo mangutana. Happy job hunting!
