It's good sis that you grew up to a very strong willed woman, at least it leaves us only 99.999999999% of pinays, that we have to identify if they grew up to be strong willed like you. If you noticed sis, a lot of women yearn for a "happily ever after story", growing up having misconceptions about love, w/o realizing that in the real world, it's a totally different ball game, and that reality bites. I know a lotta women will object to this but consider this, subconsciously, you might have already been longing for a fairy tale love story w/o realizing it.

Fairy tales stories are not bad, in fact, they are tools w/c helps children develop themselves at an early age, notice how some girl during their childhood would say that "i would wanna be like..., because she's so ..., and so on and so forth". But like everything else, to much of everything is a bad thing, so this is where parents come in. They are the ones responsible for helping children understand how the world really works. Some of you might think that discussing such things w/ children at a young age is too early, but don't you think that starting them early would actually be more beneficial to them in the future?

Anyway, I commend the author for her creativity. Full of facts but also humorous. To the author, keep it up.
i understand your point... but naa man cases where girls DO get their happily ever after life... though not perfect.... if people just change for the better... (esp. men).. hihihi

you might think kids' worlds are only of fairies, mermaids, pirates, etc... but you don't know they have keener senses than us... because of their "innocence" and their thinking of an ideal world, they question us why things are (simple questions but so deep in meaning about the good and the bad stuff that's happening to our world).... if you saw the video about "the girl who silenced the world for 5 mins" i think you understand what i mean.....

i guess, if we grownups think like children once in a while, maybe we'll be inspired to change (ourselves and help heal the world)... do something about it... rather than just accepting that "REALITY BITES" and THAT'S HOW THE WORLD IS sort of stuff.....

anyway, what i wrote before was similar to this. i was saying something like, why do people make happy endings in fairy tales when life in general isnt really all that glamorous... kids will think that everything is just peachy keen in life. in real life, if you get poisoned like snow white, you're probably gonna die 90% of the time. in real life, when you meet someone and didnt tell him your contact details, not even your name (like in cinderella) how can he ever text or call or email you?

anyway, those are just my thoughts...
i still love fairytales no matter how f*cked up the author is when he was writing those fairytales. like alice in wonderland, the imagination is soooo out of this world. naka marijuana cguro ang author when he was writing it. LOL!

    p.s.
nalingaw ko sa post TS.. hehehe!that's what i thought of it. although, mejo s3x oriented kaau ang girl noh?

I think when she wrote this letter she is so bitter & pretty much f*cked up with life, well as you say as a child, walt disney make us believe for happy endings...lol...and as a child..we really don't know whats happening in the real world, so mao na ig dako nato we already have an "imagination" how a relationship should be...waaaaaaaaaa... then pag abot nmo sa real worlds..*ouch* taysa murag sayop man pagkasuwat ang fairy tale...hahaha.. ^_^

Makahinomdom lang ko sa one of my all time favorite song sa imong g comment... ^_^

    which is;

    The Greatest Love of All
    by Whitney Houston

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they posses inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

    Everybody seaching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be, so I learned to depend on me

I decided long ago never to walk in anyone's shadow
If I failed, if I succeed, at least I lived as I believed.
No matter what they take from me they can't take away my dignity

Because the greatest Love of all is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all inside of me

    The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve learning to love yourself,
it is the greatest love of all

And if by chance that special place that you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place find you strength in love
