Gloria, her security aides and her generals want to charge and jail her political foes, but are naturally bereft of any evidence, and so they go about manufacturing it, such as getting San Juan —and now, their alleged asset, Bumindang, another mutineer, to finger them. And on the say-so of these rebel turncoats, build up a case against Gloria’s political foes.

This has always been the way of Gloria’s prostitutes in the police and the military.

But they have done even one incredible one better. After the raid where the six Magdalo rebels were caught and where they claimed they had evidence of yet another coup plot, called Oplan Trident which would blow up the Batasan Complex while Gloria, the diplomats, the congressmen, senators and all invited guests will be housed, will be taken hostage by these rebels, after which they would establish a transition council government, the police and military team returned to the scene of the crime some five days after the seizure of evidence, with Bumindang in tow, and gathered even more evidence. Wow! After collating all the evidence the first time, they found more laptops, notes and god knows what else? That’s one for Ripley!

“Let us keep our fingers crossed. I hope they [coup plotters] realize that they do not have a chance with me,” said Esperon, whose name in Spanish means “battering ram.”

In the News today, incoming AFP Chief of staff, Gen, Esperon said he is planning to conduct a redeployment of military troops once he assumes the top military post to better fight the communist New People’s Army which President Arroyo wants stamped out in two years’s time.

He said that the AFP needs to reexamine their maneuver forces, size of maneuver forces and the number of men that they will put in the frontlines. He also added that many (officers and men) are still in the headquarters that they need to send them there (frontlines), and have to focus on the frontlines.

Shouldn't the opposition be saying something about the conspiracy to topple the government which has already been exposed? They're being oddly silent about it, after all their protestations about lack of accountability in government. May selective amnesia yata ang mga ito?

Lt. San Juan issued an affidavit linking Gringo, Bishop Tobias and lawyer Ruel Pulido.

THen came the jueteng whistleblowers Abe riva and Richard Garcia linking the 6 bishops, Lagdameo, Tobias, Cruz, Iñiguez, Labayen and Bacani of conniving with coup plotters.

San Juan's affidavit is the exact replica of intelligence reports of the military 6 months ago. The signature of the affidavit does not correspond to the signature of San Juan. THe military sensed that no one is believing their stories if they alone would present it. That is why they are using San Juan to make their "fiction" more believable.

The administration is in desperate witch hunting mode. I would like to see if they would step up the ante and make arrest ala Marcos time.

It appears that Malacañang and the Arroyo government have nothing, by way of evidence, to go by in charging private citizens for an imagined February coup. To this day, Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez has failed to identify the so-called 20 businessmen in his coup list.

What was clear was that San Juan’s affidavit hewed much too closely to the official line on the alleged coup plot, linking Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim to the supposed coup that would bring about a new government plus of course that bit about overhearing Lim asking former Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan if he would prepare a draft of his withdrawal of support.

San Juan’s unsworn statement starts with his being recruited by his colleagues preparatory to the Oakwood Mutiny in July 2003, extending to the alleged February 2006 coup. Given the fact that San Juan, along with the other Magdalo officers at Oakwood, was in military detention since July 2003, how on earth could he have attested to these meetings with his co-coup plotters?

But trust the military generals to come up with a story that is intended to tie up “loose ends,” such as San Juan claiming that even while he was in detention, he sneaked out at least eight times to hold meetings with Gringo, Lim, former UP President Francisco Nemenzo, activist Renato Constantino Jr. and some others. And the meetings were even held in a well-known hotel while they were on the run!

Why the claim that he sneaked out of his detention cell many times? Elementary. How could San Juan then have “personal knowledge” of these clandestine meetings from 2003 to 2006 and implicate those whom his chief, Gen. Hermogenes Esperon, wants to implicate, especially the Magdalo lawyer Ruel Pulido, whom Esperon had publicly accused of being a trouble maker and a propagandist.

Notice that there were no specific dates given in that affidavit during these so-called clandestine meetings. But naturally, since those who prepared the perjured statements were careful with dates, knowing that since they had no way of checking on the dates Gringo, Lim et al, the statement would easily be demolished if these individuals could account officially for that particular time mentioned.

^^ ok. those posts are long. i could missed a few your statements because i could not stand the lies. sorry. anyway, i got a few to say about your post. i believe there is an attempt to grab power from the government. if you don't belive it, it's your choice. why do i believe it? with what 'really' happened that fateful day: scout rangers and the marines were blocked by the army from leaving the barracks? is that imagined? no, sir. it did happen. now what do you want your government will do after that? i think you want them to go after them, right? because they are destabilizing the country and a threat to our democracy and freedom. or you got something that is different. would you care to share it?

about your post, it's all spin. the oppositions' spin. you want to get the people to doubt that there is really a planned power grab. as for san juan's affidavit? it's the government spin. the government want to pin the adventurer's.

@ wanderlust: that's right. why the silence?
