IMO, they are not enemies of the church (as I have said before)... most of them are cornerstone to our democracy. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi, I have little knowledge of this stuff but I'll just little.
A snippet first. Actually there is no enemy of the roman catholic church. Only those psuedo fundamentalists think that what roman catholic is just as bad as evil doers. I am a catholic but my association with the religious group has nothing to do with segregation or separation of groups. Tawo ra tang tanan...
Now, I'll get back to the topic.
Many non-Catholics, whether they be Masons or not, are honestly puzzled by the attitude of the Catholic Church toward Freemasonry. They comment about it along the following lines: “I have lived among Masons all my life... some of the finest men I have known have been Masons ... they conduct many charitable enterprises and are moral, law-abiding citizens ... what has the Catholic Church got against Masons?” The answer can be briefly stated, Catholics have nothing against individuals who are Masons, or against the good works carried on under Masonic auspices. But no Catholic can subscribe to Masonic religious teachings or practices, or take the Masonic oath ... much less promote by his dues and active cooperation, official Masonry’s hostility to the Catholic Church. It is not merely because it is a “secret society”, that Catholics cannot be Masons. It is because of the particular kind of secret society that Masonry happens to be.
... i'll continue this, got to go, gigutom na ko! hehehehe.
Bottomline is , to become one .... one has to believe in a SUPREME BEING . WHatever it is mapa God , Buddha , Shinto , Allah etc . That would defy the purpose of one being an ATHEIST . An atheist is an atheist .... doesnt deny the EXISTENCE of a SUPREME BEING but discounts and doesnt ackowledge the EXISTENCE of a SUPREME BEING .
When giving websites , we have to consider also who made this websites . As ive already said my part in a different thrad sa POLITICS and CURRENT EVENTS , use only OFFICIAL WEBSITES so that we will be on the same page when we discuss about FREEMASONRY and learn from it . How can one learn about when a site is given that was made as a form of campaign to step on and disrespect Freemasonry ?
@ SINYALAN ...
Murag nabali man bai . ILLUMINATI existed from the Craft . The people who happened to start it are already Crafstmen and most of its members are Masons .

Seriously brod, Mason as in short for Freemason.
Question brod, what do you do inside the masonic lodge (my guess) is similar to Masonic Rites? The gavel, the positions, the members, the inductees, and so on are quite similar to the Masons. As far as I know (second-hand info lang ni) Jacques DeMolay was a Grandmaster of the Freemason... correct ba?Originally Posted by GOSPELofROCH
I agree with you brod. I have friend who is a catholic get accepted into the brotherhood. Purpose? Civic organizations, charitable drives for the church...Originally Posted by schtriga

i dont see it as enemy of the church but an organization with a different view/practices from the catholic church.
for ex...The church alleged that Freemasonry teaches naturalistic deistic religion which is in conflict with the church doctrine. meaning Freemasonry believes in one supreme being as against the church trinity (god the father, son and holy spirit).
