That means they do 2 hours extra work every day for four days... 2 hours x 4 days = 8 hours.

So whoever thought of this scheme must be smoking a whole lot of cheeba if he thinks it's save the gov't any money.

that's actually 2 hours of extra rest. i personally saw & experienced the scenario in most government offices. people come in at 8:30AM-9AM, takes a coffee break at 10AM, takes their lunches at 11:30, comes back at 1:30, takes merienda at 3PM & goes home at 4:30. imagine what they will be doing at 5PM down? play mah-jong, go ballroom dancing, have a drinking spree, ger² in the nooks & crannys perhaps? ALL IN THE OFFICE after 5.

This, as well as the new VAT are proof positive that I was right in not voting for GMA.

The 4-day work week is supposed to "decrease" government spending, while the new VAT is supposed to augment government revenue?

It's pretty obvious that our government is out of funds because our politicians spend so much and keep so much for themselves. Aside from "Pork Barrel", they have the usual kickbacks, ghost employees, "miscallaneous" expenses.

If we just did without pork barrell itself, we would have saved billions already.

We should also abolish The Senate, as they serve a redundant purpose in the passes of bills. All the Senate is good for now is as a forum through which those aspiring for higher office find free publicity.

Imagine the billions we can save with that as well.

Regional directors, i believe, have the prerogative at adopting the new working scheme.. some government offices, Commission on Audit FO VII for one, opted to keep with their flexi sched..

i think its useless kay ang mga empleyado gapanglakaw na as early as 5pm......sayang ang gibayad sa gobyerno....

dli man mi manlakaw ug sayo intawon... ang amo work ky 10 hrs a day bya krn ky 4 days ra man ang work... kung kwentahon mura gihapon ug 5 days work.

ako i work in a govt agency and so far so good man ang 4day work sked namo...mahuman jud tanan nakong buluhaton sa usa ka adlaw..wala koy pending...so for me, nakaayo jud ang 4day work week...pro mao sad lagi inig uli nako kapoy na...
