AVR ko karon but im planning to buy an UPS. how much does it cost diay?

you can go to ACDC for the panther avr, zebra and aegis is exclusive to ace hardware.. dako lang ug patong ang ace hardware. but its worth it.

those brands (panther zebra aegis) are proudly philippine made, they are in the market for more than 30 years now.

i think medyo wla pa kasabot ang uban about sa UPS ug AVR.

pasabton nako ang uban ha.

now, UPS is Uninterruptable Power Supply function is to give you back-up power (most brands only offer 15-30 minutes of back-up power since the output is AC, stored in a battery) when there is sudden power supply cut-off.

while, AVR is Automatic Voltage Regulator function is TO REGULATE POWER SURGES(high voltage, low voltage, fluctuations, electricity spikes) and maintain it to a stable and safe power voltage of 220v or 110v depends on the output.

UPS DOES NOT REGULATE electricity and AVR DOES NOT GIVE YOU BACK-UP POWER.

you cannot say UPS is better than AVR or the other way around.. the 2 complements each other and no one is better than the other because they are two different machines with different functions.

example:

you live in lapu-lapu, power supplier is MECO, known to be very unstable power supplier sahay mag high voltage usahay mag low voltage, so mao ni prime nga enemy sa mga PSU.
so kung mag UPS RA KA, kung mag brown-out you have 15 minutes to save your work especially kung programmer ka nga limtanun ug quicksave. but.. your psu and your whole puter is prone to damage due to unstable power supply.. because you main source (MECO) is already unstable.
so kung mag AVR pud ka, you will get a steady and regulated power, maintained at 220v +-5% depende sa brand... BUT you will not have back-up power kung mag brown-out.. off jud ka diretso.

about complimenting each other.. pwede ka mag ups ug avr.. you connect your ups to the main power source (outlet) and you connect your avr to you ups, so ang supply sa avr gikan sa ups.. it will give you the function of both, back-up power and stable power.
naa pu brand nga 2-in-1 avr and ups.. pero mahal kaau.

useless ra nang avr if naa na kay ups kay ang mga ups naa nay built in avr. ang avr pud kay dili kaayo kasaligan specially kanang baratohon. sa ako lang experience, 5 yrs na ko wala ga gamit og avr unya wala pa gyud ko na gub an og pc. if gusto kag avr nga kasaligan, kad2ng mahalon palita, ayaw nang tag 300. pero sa ako lang, if mu palit kag mahalon nga avr(kanang price range nga 1.5k up), maypa mu palit ka og reliable nga powersupply nga nga autovolt kay mas safe pa imong pc ana

naa may ups na built in ang regulator.... daghan naman bag o karon na ups....

yeah. mostly built-in na AVR, try APC nga UPS, medyo mahal mahal lang.

yes, sakto ka walay gamit ang mga avr nga tag-300 ra... nigpis kaau ug coil, murag coil sa wallclock, you realy have to go for the expensive brands especially if your area is experiencing insane low voltage and demonic high voltages.

wala nagguba imong pc for 5 years without using avr? don't be surprise, veco is a good company(i was refering to MECO in Mactan) it has been supplying us with stable electrity for more than 5 years, so dont be surprise if wala magguba imung puter bisan wala kau avr, kay ang PSM/PSU mismo mo regulate na ug currente(gamay lang ug range, kay dc man iyang output) nya wala pud kaayo fluctuations ang gisupplayan sa veco.

ma veco or meco man bro, mo expierience gyud na usahay og low voltage. depende pud sa lugar. kanang layo kaayo nga lugar, dako gyud nag possibility nga low voltage na ang kuryente sa ila tungod sa losses sa transmission. amo a pud before kay nag experience man og low voltage kay ni daghan man og maayo ang users diri. na timingan man gani before akong pc og low voltage pero na pawng man bisag naay avr. mao to naka decide ko nga dili na magamit og avr kay useless man diay gihapon. powerstrip with surge protector nalang ako gi gamit until now.
