if you are playing not above 1048x768, dont bother getting x16-x16 mobo, get the P45 instead. dont even bother xfiring or sli, better get a single good video card. P45 is still the most practical chipset to buy.

Well 2 4870s have better cooling than 4870x2. And to tell you a secret that most people who only use stock settings in their video card don't know.
2x 4870 is more overclockable than 4870x2. And has better individual cooling on each card. As always with dual cards.
Based on my experience before my dual 3870 has better 3d mark scores compared to a single 3870x2. When overclocked

8k X48 chipsets are starting to appear now. Just needs some more searching.

These are special edition ECS motherboards. It may be ECS but its their cream of the crop product line.
I have been a user of ECS boards before so far I haven't been experiencing any problems with this brand.
As what you can see these benchmarks include 1060x1050 resolutions. and see the slight difference in all newer games between P45 and X48.Based on my own understanding, opinion and research.. dual 16x's will only benefit you IF you can meet the following conditions, a 30" LCD for 2560x1920 + 2 of the latest dual GPU cards like 2x 4870X2 or a 2x GTX295..
Well this is way out of topic and I would not continue this discussion.
Thats NOT even an issue, only a monkey would choose 2pcs 4870's over a single 4870X2 when building a high end gaming rig.
Wow! thats one mind blowing secret really!
People who run at stock speeds do not care about how overclockable 2x 4870's compared to a 4870X2, Your not making any valid points since we are not talking about overclocking benefits vs stock.
Heres a little secret, 4870X2's dont require CF capable motherboards and inter GPU communication is far better thanks to the PLX 2.0 bridge chip, w/c means virtually no micro-stuttering even at low frame rates as compared to having 2x 4870 that requires a CF capable mother board and stuffers greatly from micro-stuttering.
An overclocked hardware IS always faster than its stock counter part, thanks for telling us the obvious.
You go out and buy a top of the line 48k videocard (24k each, 2x 4870X2 ) but you decide to use an 8k motherboard ECS will always be ECS, again only monkeys would make such choices.
But i do agree in one of your point, you should not reply to this thread anymore to avoid futher OT's

hahha.. OT na to guyzz.. oist tama na yan... baka mapagalitan tayo nang mga mods.. btw na research na ako about ecs x48 board.. and most of the reviews says.. its like an intel board.. not OCable.. but its very stable on stockspeed.. but to me value of board is how good it can OC's.. like buying a 5k proc and run it liket worth 10k..
btw probly 1680x1050 will be my resolution for all may games t220 samsung ^_^
no worries bout 2nd hand, basta its supported by warranties, distro or personal...
