The Commission on human rights and The International War Crimes Tribunal are absolutely vital as they bring accountability to those who would use their power for evil deeds. Many people are tortured and murdered around the world and these victims deserve justice! The human race also deserves to progress from the barbarism of yesteryear.

Human rights are basic international laws, it is not meddling to say "Look....people should never be subjected to intolerable conditions regardless of their geographical location and no matter the color of their skin or their personal beliefs". These institutions are saying to world leaders, generals, rebel commanders, prison guards, police forces etc."We are watching you and we care about what happens to your people even if you do not!" Why would any sane person oppose such a noble cause?

Consider the genocide in Rwanda, the killing fields of the Khmer Rouge, the Nazi party and ask yourself...... why did these things happen?

Way au jud..

.. common scenario on human rights:

    - Victim A was being robbed by Suspect A.
    - Suspect A didn't realized that Victim A was a black belter,
    - Victim A kicked the arse of Suspect A

.. here comes the Human Rights Activist( daw ) ... look, Suspect A is being brutally attacked by Victim A. Let's support Suspect A's human rights.

.. as a famous song of metallica goes ..... SAD BUT TRUE

    just my two cents worth...

I would imagine that there are a number of journalists sitting at home right now who might be in a hole in the ground were it not for the steadily increasing pressure from international human-rights groups and concern expressed by heads-of-state. Extra-judicial killings are murder pure and simple and if the perpetrators are members of the forces then they obviously have no respect for the very laws they swore to uphold.

Even if there was capital punishment here (which there isn't) then due process for criminals would require a trial, a sentence, a possible appeal and finally execution of sentence. Many astute people would have been involved in that process. A lone gunman who thinks himself qualified to be judge, jury & executioner is a disturbing thought in a democracy, especially when not all his victims are criminals. And there you have it in a nutshell, condoning one type of illegal killing and not another erodes the value of law and the protection it provides to all men.
