So man discovers that he can live a comfortable life by his invention. He thanks God? Which in fact God placed him in that situation in the first place.

Discoveries and inventions are made because of our curiosity and questioning nature and the things that happen. We won't be sitting here discussing things even though we are miles apart without man's inginuity and inventiveness. The man thought and asked how he may live a comfortable life with his current situation and also benefit others. Man invents, innovates and develops. I don't see any grief or sorrow in that.
