CEBU into six provinces?

hhhmm... this is just like giving these damn politicians even greater avenue for further corruption.. trimming down their jurisdiction to provinces where they are quite confident to raign.. now this is sheer avariciousness! the fact those behind this revival of proposal are all serving their third successive terms in the house of representatives and can no longer seek re-election..

these would definitely divide cebuanos and hinder development..

If these politicians say that division will accelerate development , then why not make each province of the Philippines an independent state A separate Republic of Cebu would surely accelerate its economy...

it's amazing to think how these politicians were elected and how they have come up with such mediocre. yes i think it's mediocre instead of sheer talent or intellect. they've just wasted the people's votes. clearly, they have so much boo-boos they should be ashamed of.

ill play the devil's advocate here and present the other side of the story, most of which was explained to me by my uncle... but please i ask you to have an open mind

first of all, how do you divide cebu? do you put walls? do you cut it up? no. the only thing that we will see is a billboard saying "you are leaving cebu del sur" or "welcome to cebu del norte". so just like davao when it was divided, our perception of the whole province will still be the same, same old cebu. no one says "bai, niadto ko sa davao del norte last week" our perception of davao is just davao, no divisions.

now that was superficial way to look at it. the real purpose for the division is for easier management of cebu. you ask "but we already have divisions in cebu, how about the districts?" well, districts are the congressmens turf, but congressmen cant do shit unless its approved by the governor, coz making projects isnt job of the congressman (well, supposededly) he just makes laws. so having a governor in each district would mean having an executive,a manager if you will, run the district, which would now be both a district and a province. plus having new provices would mean independent budget for each of the provinces, the equal share of the taxes that cebuanos are paying, because if you havent noticed, mas daghan ug projects sa ciudad ug sa east side sa cebu, the west side of cebu is neglected. so having new provinces would mean development for the whole cebu.

if di gihapon mo convinced, maybe you should stop readig sun star, biased man ni sila against the creation of the new provinces, syepre garcia gud, they want to hold on to the power that they have right now. pero kun against gyud mo ani, choice na ninyo, ni hatag lang ko sa other, not-so-popular, side of it. basta try to think whats best for cebu.. mabuhi ang cebu!!

literally, no. but technically or in some legal sense, yes.

city is not part of the province. ask the crocodiles(politicians) on the west sides, what are they doing? we've seen provinces divided already, still there was no development because naa gihapon kawatan.

there is one thing obviously common with these three congressmen(aside from their being corrupt), they are serving on their last term.
