well... see it from this point of view... Michelle Obama isn't parading herself as a "just like you" soccer/hockeymom/pitbull with lipstick and I don't think that her meal was paid with taxpayer money or campaign contributions
(remember... she's not even running for anything, you don't vote for your first lady, I'd be more concerned about the person running for VP)

Palin on the other hand claims that she is just another hardworking mother of many, and that's why the old millionaires in Washington fear her, because she is a honest small town girl from the "real america". Also she claims (well.. not really claims.. lets say.. she insinuates) that all the people in Big Cities are raging homosexuals, sodomites and Anti-America.

Then she buys clothing worth 150 000 $ from Designer stores located in the "evil fake america"

hahaha It would be totally hilarious If she gets elected , at least to me, not so much for the americans i guess, considering McCain is 72 years old. I just love US elections... when it was Sarkozy VS Royal, those weird french people only talked about issues. How booooring.

In her defense though, the Clothes will go to a charitable cause after she's done with them... and a Prada bag sure looks better than a Hobo stick

I agree to Vern's statement, its her money anyway. So what a person spends so much for a snack, its her choice anyway.

i think what the thread starter is driving at is spending lavishly does not equal simplicity and i think that's part of obama's campaign strategy and showing that side of michelle would weaken his candidacy. but i doubt that. spending 447 is nothing compared to palin's spending issues. i think it's a desperate move from the anti-obama campaign.
