what is your skill set?
usually software dev sa SG naa sa mga Php80k pataas
Yup... you're right. some are less and some are higher. it really depends upon the skillset and the numbers of professional who knows the language.
ako skillset is mostly .Net (C#,vb.net,vb6) mssql... but I do php/mysql on my free time
I create directx games for fun, create websites, and some game automation tool(BOT) to keep me lazy
di man tingali kaau importanti skillset kai ako migo c++, iya gi applayan is java programmer... nya iya trabaho Perl. heheeh so di man kaau important skillset.. ang potential og ang chance man important para nako.![]()
That's what I mean having a good skillset.. C++, Java, Perl meaning he got the solid foundation on his skills from concepts, theory, methodology & application based on the language track.
minsan kc may nababasa kami na resume having skillset like VB, C++, PHP, Python, ASP, .NET technologies. whatttt? hehehehe
cguro case to case bases nalang din. but it happens in my field never kami tumatanggap ng ganyan. ung parang jack of all trade master of none. hindi naman masama alam lahat o kahit until basic lang. pero when talking about skillset, its something that along with your expertise. like if you have 5 years solid C/C++ (dos) & 5 years solid Visual C++ (SWIG, OpenGL), then you have a big chance to join a software development team together with other professional who are in the field or have been focusing in their field.
well again, its case to case bases...it depends upon the project I guess...
It depends. I prefer working with devs who have a broad skillset.
I'd rather work with a competent dev who knows C++, PHP, and Python than with a senior dev who only knows C and nothing else.
Narrow perspective = project disaster![]()
That's the opposite of my opinion.
I like to work with people working a lifetime with one language only, so I know they are real professionals in their language. They get assigned just to work in their language. If I need code in other languages, I will find people specialized in that language. With that, I get maximum quality.
I do not like programmer which know 10 languages and just a little of each.
Programming is for me a job like any other. When I go to my car shop, I sure do not let the welder adjust my valves, because he know a little about that too, I will get a specialist for that, and only for that.
