Thread: Dmax or Hilux?

  1. #31

@ vipvip68: call it invincible call it survivor pero ang tawo nagsakay mas humok pas panit sa saging hehehe

YouTube - Toyota Hilux fails the Moose test

Toyota SUV's & pickups should come with a warning for a rollover precaution, abrupt stopping/maneuvering is extremely dangerous.

unsaon manang pagka invincible kung ang tawng nagsakay perteng pataya kay nagbalintong o nibale ang sakyanan? PEACE

    @ tambok

i think vipvip68 is working for toyota. look at the threads: toyota pricelist, issues with Toyota, Honda civic vs. Corolla Altis and this thread. He is defending TOYOTA with his heart out. I AM NOT 100% SURE BUT I THINK THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE.

Since we're talking about the moose test and vehicle rollovers.. here's a list of other vehicles prone to rollover...

Ford Explorer, Suzuki Samurai, Ford Expedition, Chevy Tahoe, Honda Passport, Isuzu Rodeo, Ford Ranger, Lincoln Navigator, Toyota 4Runner, Rav4, Toyota Landcruiser, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe, GMC Jimmy, S-10 Blazer, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee, Nissan Xterra, Mitsubishi Montero, Pathfinder, Toyota Sequoia, Chevrolet Suburban, Yukon, Chevy TrailBlazer and many other SUVs, trucks and passenger vans

Don't get me wrong.. vehicle stability is a step in the right direction.. more manufacturers should adopt this safety feature in their vehicles... especially those with high center of gravity. My take on this is.... if you own a car with a high center of gravity like a Pickup or SUV or Van you should know the limitations of the vehicle, be more cautious and you shouldn't be going around treating it like a sports car... if you must drive like Schumacher on a Pickup.. .get one with stability control like the one shown in the video.

Here's a good example of how safety features like ABS, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control work.
YouTube - How Effective is Stability Control

I don't think vehicle stability control comes standard for the Strada in the Philippines (correct me if I am wrong). That safety feature is not listed for the Strada in the Mitsubishi website.. only the new 4x4 Pajero has that feature.

There were 6 vehicles tested in the full version of the video.. and they hinted that only one had stability control.

And in the forums in singapore and thailand.. they're saying that the Triton shown in that video has stability control.
