well i asked have the use their leverage in asking microsoft to lower the cost Windows XP to ICAC members?

have ICAC negotiated with microst to lower the price of Microsoft office 2003?

ICAC as a private group should look for the interest of Internet cafe owner's

Those fees should have an end result

unlike the taxes we pay which doesn't seem to show any benefit at all..........

I see lots of unconfirmed and at best fictional postings here... I wonder where you guys get your informaion (if you can call it that) from. Based on what I just read, there's a lot of things i want to say but I'll just kep my mouth shut... for now.

Let me get back to the primary reason I posted. I AM A FOUNDING BOARD OF DIRECTOR OF ICAC. At least we can set this expactation so that most of the sides can be represented. Post your questions and I'll give you the answer for them. Be it the answer you want to hear or not is not my concern. We have a purpose and that is the main reason why we were organizaed. If ever ICAC did something wrong then I, for one, will be one of the first to condemn the organization just as Toto Algarme and Lucero would do if that would happen. So start loading your ammunitions and shoot the first question already. Stop whining and complaining to the people who don't have any idea what you're talking about and are just commenting on the things you are saying. This is aForum so let's strat this forum so that the correct and factual information will be posted.

Where were you man? You born today? The reason of ICAC's existence is to protect the industry whether you're a member or not. ICAC has represented you in every negotiation on the licensing issue. Today, ICAC will get 100% compliance by the end of the year. By the first half of next year, we will be going after Microsoft if we find any i-cafe who are still using pirated OS. It would be unfair if ICAC members are singled out to comply while the rest, especially those non-members are not. Put down the price? Oh man, you you must be kidding! The price you could get today is the cheapest we can get. You should credit it to ICAC. Mahal man kaha? Di ayaw ug palit! Ayaw lang sab install. Mao man jud ilang presyo, makabuot diay ta? Look around, do what ICAC did! Do your share, ICAC officers are only volunteers to protect the whole industry. They are not your servants, they are likewise businessmen like you. If you are a member, abide with the rules as we do.

Sorry guys if I had offended you but I was just being carried away by my displeasure of what has been written against ICAC and it's officers which is libelous. You should have researched enough, do your homework before posting anything. Any issue should be brought directly to the proper venue. It's just a phone call away. We are in the IT industry, don't do this kind of tsismis, binayot man nah! Bayot mo? Remember that we can always have access on every thread like this. You have offended us, don't ever try us if you're not fully equipped. I knew some of you as we are in the same business venture. If you knew some of the officers, why not approach and make direct inquiry? We've been here this long so you should have believed what we told you. ICAC officers could not do so much without the cooperation of its members. Remember that we all are businessmen, if you have pressures, we do have too plus ICAC.

Hello there! everyall di lng everyone . . .

relax lng mo tanan. Â*stop naming names. if you want to name names, start it by introducin yourself and what you have done to internet cafe industry.

    Well . . .

walay gamit ang ICAC? => kahibawo bamo nga kon wala pa ang icac, no single internet cafe can operate within 100 meters from school? Â*If not, dn make your research 1st before barking.

compulsory ang membership? => read ordinance 1901 word for word to determine if it is really compulsory
Â* Â* Â* to be a member of any legitimate internet cafe association or ICAC.
Â* Â* Â*if you don't like ICAC, go ahead and create your own association. Â*One thing for sure, ICAC is not compulsory, it so happen nga ICAC pa lng ang legitimate and duly registered internet cafe operator's association

3k membership? => pila karon membership sa uban business association? Pila pud ila annual/monthly fee?

XP OS license? => can home edition be used for business pursposes? the word itself answer the question. Â*XP Prof should be used for business purposes. But in cebu, i don't know sa uban, beacuse of the negotiation, mi sugot cla nga home lng sa ato gamiton, considering the present economic situation and the large volume of licenses to be used. Â*It was a priviledge to use a home edtion XP OS.

Like mayor's permit, it is just a priviledge and not a right. You have no right to be issued a mayor's permit if you can't comply the given requirements being set by the city. Â*Thus, ord 1901 is not created by ICAC, it is the city's . . .

Pangurakot? => asa man dapit ang pangurakot? Â*the officers voluntarily give up some of their BC times fopr ICAC for free. Â*No single officer was being paid or recieved a single peso for his own pocket. Â*They sometimes close their cafe's just to attend the meeting for the benefit of the general members. They give their selves for the member bisan kapila na gisaway. Kon naa man gani arogante nga officer, that doesn't reflect nga arogante ang ICAC. each being is a unique individula. do you think dili sad mo arogante sa ubang butang?

and pls be informed nga pwede ang officers mo reimbursed sa mga offical expneses, but not a single officer ask for any reimbursement.

they just can't please everybody kay lain lain man ta tumong ug tinguha. Â*Most especially kon atong self ra atong hunahunaon, na bati jud ang ICAC for some.

naa man gud mga butang nga that only applies to some but not to all. Â*

murag taas taas na da. natandok lng ko kay bisan dili ko officer, dako na natabang ang ICAC nako. the fact that i'm near a school, i owe ICAC for my existence. Â*Without Â*ICAC, wala ko intrenet cafe karon, or kon naa man, lau ra sa school.

I salute th officers for their ddedication . . .

ayaw mog pada ana nga mga comment! gamay ra na cla compared sa mga silent supporter nga mga icac members.

    PEACE to ALL . . .

remember, accusing someone of doing something without proof is punisble in the court of law . . .

a suspect is even pressumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law . . .

ignorance of the law excuses no one . . .

as a group you can demand better pricing from Microsoft

you can even threaten microsoft that you will use Linux...... was this ever done? I'm afraid not.... I never heard ICAC advocating open source..... please you can hire me as the NEGOTIATOR.....I WILL MAKE MICROSOFT BEG......

so ICAC should be aggressive and not just accept 10% discount

example in Thailand the goverment threatened in promoting open source operating system..... The price of windows XP went down.... THAT is how you negotiate....

    ICAC never did this.....
