hmm.... i'm not sure if i agree with u on this one.... i dont think they sound emoish at all! i heard their previous album and i've also heard their new material... They were never emo, nor do they aim to be... BUT they are melodic... powerspoonz has always been melodic, there has always been slight hints of their melodic tendencies even in the first album, although the rapcore/limpbizkit/RATM/POD influence was predominant... U know what i think personally? i've heard akit sing melodic songs and he excels at that... Mas kataw-anan pa si Jamir mokanta!!

I think powerspoonz can make a transition to a melodic band without hitches...

by the way, sticking to your music doesn't mean sticking to your genre... If u love punk music, The Clash is a prime example mismatching genres...

Rapcore isn't my cup of tea, but somehow when i watch these guys live, they pull it off...

point taken cujo... saw them perform and they sound like "emo-ish" to me that night (there were like 7 emo bands playing one after another that night i prolly just went ahead and dump them along with the rest of the performers) ... but agree w/ you about them being melodic ever since... and nice of you to mention the clash... i have some of their albums and i noticed the "evolution" but it takes a band of such caliber as the clash to shift w/o getting flak. and yeah... i agree w/ you too about melodi tunes fitting akits kind of voice... thanks for the insights man!
