Best Strategy game in PC?

@chronnus: it seems you're really starting to get addicted to that game ...I played that game too and its awesome I must say......but then I just get hook to this wc3/battlenet thing with friends...sometimes it's not the gameplay anymore that made me continue playing this but it's the feeling of revenge to a loss or simply the competition.....it's the same feeling that made me played starcraft for ages sauna....

Mk, yeah, this game sucks up alot of my time once i start playing. For first timers of the franchise though it'll take a lot of time before you learn the stuff needed to really enjoy the game. That's probably what's putting some people off. Anyways, it has the 'one more turn' charm like Civ does, hehe.

hmm for me the best is frozen throne/warcraft III, gi compare nako sa Generals/Zero hour.
though lahi rajud ang concept sa game coz ang frozen throne/warcraft needs micromanagement, Hero experience, it doesnt really matter how large ur opponents army even he conquer all the map.

while the generals/zero hour padak-anai rajud ug forces and if conquer nimo all the map.. control jud nimo ang game...

being a player of both games i can say dli rana pa dakoay sa forces, generals fans say that WCIII pa daghanay ra ug units and vice versa, ang akong comment ani is. war3 has a blend of RPG element ( heroes ) into its battle system. both offer a good depth of strategy if you play heavily on both games. but id prefer wcIII over generals

padak-anay jud ang Generals/Zero Hour.. y lami ang strategy.. thats y ni balik ko frozen throne(battlenet) coz for 8 months nako play Generals/Zero Hour boring kau.. :P y challenge.. hehehe!

Depende ra na sa strategy ug ang AI sa games.

Actually, when I play the C&C Generals, I don't make massive attacks with a single kind of unit (to me, banga ra na sa akoa). I just make a good combination of units.

I prefer modern and futuristic games than the medieval games. In my opinion, dali ra man sa akoa makarelate gud.

On Rome : TW

Rome: Total War the very definition of an epic strategy game.

Personally, I've never given a score this high before but Rome Total War is without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played. The combination of subject matter, game mechanics, and outstanding visuals add up to one of the best experiences you'll have on the PC.

The bottom line is, if you love strategy, and prefer a little historical realism instead of fantasy units, this is your game. There's nothing else like it on the market. Sure, it might be a little complex for the casual gamer, and it might be a little rough in places, but Rome is as deep and as satisfying as they come.

Most satisfying Strategy game i've played ever since CivII. If you're a fan of Civ then you'll love the game's turn based empire building mode. Starcraft/Traditional RTS fans might not like it though.
Oh, and OT, that reviewer from gamespot is a Filipino i think, his name's Jason Ocampo, and he does look pinoy on the video review. dammit, i need to get me that kinda job.
