Why would the senators blame one person for this? They are too fond of blaming the president for everything. It's as if they are not responsible in this national concern. They should know that the present state of the public's welfare also reflects the way they work. It's not only the reflection of the work of the president but also theirs.

It seems they want to put the blame to the president and take all the credit for themselves. Are they doing anything important at the Senate to improve the burden of the people with regard to rice supply? I don't think so. If that's the case, I don't think they can simply put the blame to the president alone for they are not even doing anything to help solve the problem.

We have a lot of imported rice here in the Philippines mostly coming from Vietnam and China and are of good quality but sad to say some of our fellow Filipinos just cant help it, they take advantage and enrich themselves.

The main culprit here are the rice hoarders, mostly Chinese businessmen who buy NFA rice to retailers and rebag it as commercial rice. NFA rice cost only P18.25, repacked it and now it would cost P 26.00++, good business right?

yes, u r ryt...but we can't eradicate this type of hoarding and the only way we can do is to minimize it. just like crime. we can't stop it but only minimize it.

Still, this is not just it. the problem is much bigger than us...

"BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo said the NFA has had to resort to unusual tactics to limit corruption in the sale and distribution of government-subsidized rice.

Commercial rice currently sells for P27 per kilo, while NFA rice is sold at P16 to P17 per kilo.

He said some traders get NFA rice and sell them at commercial prices, which defeats the purpose of subsidizing the retail price.

“But this problem is much bigger than us. Globally, rice production is being affected by climate change and vast tracks of ricelands are being converted because of urbanization and even the demand for biofuels,” Guinigundo said."

that's Politics 101 my friend...as a politician to accept sole blame w/o strong reason to do it? i don't think so...the problem is global, not local...besides, this is not a "Lions for Lambs" case.

Kahinumdom mo ni Jocjoc Bolante ug ang sobra sa billion para konohay fertilizer nga gi-magic para sa eleksiyon? If one has to lay blame, why not start from the very lion's mouth, the one who has kept Bolante away from the country to avoid investigation?

El niño and la niña are expected to happen because of global warming.kanang gi pang appoint niya sa pwesto labi na gyud sa Agriculture department dili man kanang mga qualified sa position. So dapat ma blame gyud siya kay imbes nga unahon sa iyang mga appointees ang kadaghanan, ilang giuna ang ilang personal nga interest.
