Time pa, where is this shop located? Interesting lagi ni. P3 laptop for 6k? Available pa? Btw, for a computer geek, there is something good only a P3 laptop can do. So it's not really a waste of money, and definitely NOT for show purposes.

Like spending all your time deleting viruses and spywares. and of course waiting for a task to be processed.

exactly! don't settle for very much underrated lap top. this might be of no use to you anymore. unless your purpose is simply for games then go for it... but for more functionalities better yet check the specks with much scrutiny.

6k Laptop? I don't really like the sound of the price. Even though it is so attractive. It might as well be a waste of money buying one of those? Just for show purposes?
it might have a windows 95 or 98 on it Functionality in those kind of OS is almost close to nothing if you look at the current softwares available today. Wifi capability is non existent.
And believe me if you buy those for show purposes only it won't work as well. A CellPhone has more use to compared those 4th rate laptops or better yet save for Dell or a Macbook.

what if he only needs it to surf the web, check his email, chat, check the forums, do some research, do his homework, do some word processing, some accounting stuff, maybe do his taxes, some light games like solitaire, i can go and on and on...

if it doesn't have a built in wifi, he can buy a usb wifi dongle.
for a tech savvy person, they can do a lot with a P3/P4 laptop/pc.

do some fact checking first.
