Should we deny a marriage simply because it's against somebody else's religion? Last time I checked, we are a democratic country, not a theocratic one..

I agree with you, but I wouldn't say these people are hateful. They're just ignorant bigots. And I'm not saying that with any ill-feelings, it's just the very essence of being a bigot.
i.e. The moment you think your beliefs and principles, religious or not, apply to everyone and should trump everyone else's beliefs (religious or not), then you are being a bigot.

add me to the people in this thread that are bigoted, ignorant, stupid but still same *** marriage is RIDICULOUS and downright BLASPHEMOUS...MARRIAGE is supposed to be a SACRED VOW between a MAN and a WOMAN and who are we to change that SACRED VOW??it's not the world that is coming to an end but the morality and common sense of society i guess i coming to an end...
You talk about morality but claim that you are bigoted. Wow.
First of all, the concept of marriage is not entirely Christian. Marriage predates Christianity.
"Originally "marriage" was a private, binding contract between clans (families) to form an alliance, thereby increasing the clan's chances for survival in war against rival clans. A "dowry" was given by each clan to "seal the deal". Marriage was contractual, considered a passing of "property" between clans as a symbol of intention to honor the agreement being made."
That is what marriage is supposed to be.
But over the years, the concept of marriage was BORROWED by Christians to symbolize the union of man and woman under love. Nobody gave them sh*t about it.
Why can't we give gays and lesbians the same benefit of borrowing that same concept? Why should we give them sh*t about it now?
waw were getting ridiculous eyy
i just cant imagine a man and his "boyfriend" be wed. maybe some of you share their views but for me, that is just disgusting.
Two people in love is disgusting?
