Communication.

Cheaters do not communicate. The ones who fall out of love do not communicate. The ones who get fed up do not communicate.

I'd also like to point out easy-going communication. The longer you stay in a relationship, the more serious your conversations with you partner tend to become. I remember we were fighting w/ my gf. We were sooo serious trying to solve/ talk our way out of our problem to no avail. So I decided to talk with a light heart, good humor, goofed around, and it worked. Not only did I make her laugh, but we also laughed at how stupidly serious we were. We are serious, mind you... but we now try not to cross that point where your relationship tends to get stupid.
