Mao freeflyer! Dili gyud ika limud nga pilipino ang kina-iya. Salamat pud sa pagdayig nimo sa Hwarangdo. Ako ug mo-retire, uli ko sa 'pinas unya magtukod ko ug eskuwelahan diha (ngita pa ug diin dapita) Eskrima/kali/Arnis ang main curriculum unya Hwarangdo as a second curriculum but with the blessings of hwarangdo organization. I have so many plans nga ang mga bata akong tagaan ug libre nga lessons as long as they want... di ba maayo ang akong intentions? I started from that way might as well continue the tradition. As for adults, depende lang sa sabot. hehehehehehe...

If memory serves me right... Sung Gae Yi (also known as Sung Gae Lee) was the first general (hwarang) to start a new era in 1392 AD and was the first King of the Koryo dynasty. However, the name of this system was changed to kuksondo. He was famously believed to be the fast drawer of sword and guerrella tactics and fighter in hand to hand combat. His accomplihments are almost the same as Mike Echanise when he was a soldier in WWII. Dr. Jong Bang Lee saw that from Mike Echanise. Sung Gae Lee resurrected his spirit through Mike Echanise. Also, Hwarang Sung Gae Yi (Lee) was 14 years old when we became the first commander to lead his soldiers to a new era in fighting... Taas kaayo if I continue the story... but mao ning ingon nila.

I hope this help LW. :o

i've always wanted to learn arnis or kali. i was into taekwondo for a couple of years. i was a student of both federations, ITF and WTF. Its been years since i practiced and my limbs aren't as nimble as they used to be but i need the exercise!

scoob: didn't know you were into martial arts bai. mind if i take a peek at your practice bai? asa man mo magpraktis sa abellana? what time?

Pnoize, do you still remember the ITF forms? If you still remember them, start from there and continue that until you get the feeling of comfortness... it doesn't have to be rigid (as per your description of yourself) but the essence of it. I used to compete with WTF and ITF here in Florida some 5 or 6 years ago. Now, I devoted myself to my kids. Stretching is good and swimming will not break any bones. Brisk walking diha sa Fuente Osmena kada buntag will make your muscles get its routine... good luck.
