im not an audiophile but i learned from audiophiles not to buy knock offs or candied-up headphones like beats. so i bought myself BrainWavz HM3 from an istoryan. really happy with it!

i hate to admit it but i used to own beats 3yrs ago lol and with all due respect it actually sounded really good and i liked it a lot. its just not worth it for the price. you pay more for the brand and celebrity endorsements and eye-candy and there are so many cheaper and real 'audiophile' cans out there. plus just like ladies bags, there are so many fakes around. price alone it was prob my biggest newbie regret. I've since moved on with a sennheiser hd and now a grado. everytime i see someone wear beats in the mall or someplace, i always look and have some silly grin on me face thinking, you should've spent your money with something better lol

Bro korg17, coming from beats and senns, How do you find the sound sig. of the Grados? I've never tried them..aggressive daw? Do you like it better?

i cant say enough yet since im still burning it in. but so far it sounds excellent right out of the box. i dont find them aggressive, in fact i find the mids are quite soft, bass is a bit under-emphasised as the way i like it but is easily fixed by my Fiio E07K. i guess this is prob due to the open back design where sound can leak out, but you get a wider soundstage instead and better overall sound. maybe a few more hrs of burn will finally loosen it up and sound optimal.
