how did it get in there anyway. thats gross.
But they shouldn't have made fun of any patient.
Ooops, let me make some things clear with this post to avoid any misunderstanding. VCMC is Visayas Community Medical Center, a tertiary private hospital located across CAP, while the hospital involved in this issue is VSMMC or Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. hehe..Originally Posted by brown_dog
I guess the video gets reuploaded everytime it gets taken down.
some text from MSN: [br]_________________________________________________
A video posted on YouTube showing Philippine doctors laughing while removing an object from a patient may lead to charges against the surgeons and cost them their medical licenses, officials said Wednesday.
The government-run Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in the central city of Cebu, where the surgery took place, is conducting an investigation, a spokesman said Wednesday. [br]_________________________________________________
sure enough, like clock-work, what I said about VSMMC, Cebu City and our country's soiled reputation came into fruition in just hours from my post, not even days. it's now in the media spotlight internationally and is being read and followed by people around the world. I can't wait to hear the reactions of our fellow Filipino Medical practitioners in all parts of the world when their co-workers would joke around with them with regards to this issue at hospitals and clinics they're currently working at. all because a dozen or so careless, heartless and unprofessional medical practitioners couldn't get their acts straight. imagine what a 3-minute video can do to the careers of our fellow Filipino health workers around the globe. it's not even funny...
how a small drop of liquid in the ocean can cause a very big ripple effect. but I guess those guys at the OR never heard of that. but nevertheless, they have a lot of explaining to do. but no matter what they do from here on out, it won't repair the damage that it already caused. this is gonna get bigger I tell you.
I wonder if those same people picketing the ABC studio would still do the same when Teri Hatcher in a future episode of Desperate Housewives would say: " See, what did I tell you about those medical schools in the Philippines?"
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
^^ Just because a couple of doctors "couldn't get their acts straight", this doesn't mean that the medical schools to which the medical team belong are inadequate or incompetent. As I have said in a previous post, unfortunately, the doctors involved belong to the medical schools here in Cebu including a top performing school in the country. Even UP-PGH (philippine general hospital, another public hospital) which supposedly houses the creme of the crop physicians/medical practitioners have their fair share of issues, some of which can be considered worse than this (issues that resulted to death, nosocomial infections, etc.). And what about medical schools outside the Phil.?, Hell, American doctors sure have some bad bedside manners. But that's another issue. But you do have a point, while I don't believe this incident will actually vindicate Teri Hatcher nor the writers of the show. If she were to say that again, then it would yet be another issue, and the same people would continue picketing at the ABC Studio. I'm betting my life on that. hehehe..
The hospital as well as their staff should be prepared for a lot of trouble in court. Not to mention the damages done to which they have to pay..Cgeha pa ninyo..walay mga batasan.
