Asi Taulava had a double-double before the first half ended and finished the game with 33 points and 17 rebounds for Coca-Cola, his best performance so far in quite some time, but wasn't enough to lift the Tigers over the Alaska Aces.

Coca-Cola went down to 1-8 and this is looking good for Talk 'N Text, it will give them a greater probability of getting the number 1 pick. Gabe Norwood?

Jeffrey Cariaso, Willie Miller and Mike Cortez combined for 71 points for Alaska while Taulava, Mark Telan, and rookie Ronjay Buenafe combined for 75 points for Coca-Cola.

I doubt if Taulava can win the MVP plum even if he scores 30+ pts a game. The MVP usually goes to the best player of the best/championship team of the season, especially a team winning the All Filipino Conference. Coke is at the bottom of the standings and I think it'll remain that way 'til the season ends.
