Just curious I've ben googling a lot about under clocking, and I was wondering when you overclock you sometimes have to increase voltage, now my question is: "does this mean that when you underclock you lower the voltages?"

Googling was'nt very helpful, because all the links I have read only talk about lowering the FSB or in some cases adjusting the multiplier, but no talk about voltages, processor vcore to be exact.

Yes, if your motherboard has the option to give the CPU lower than default VID you can underclock & undervolt, but usually builtin power saving features like intels C1E & EIST will do that for you automatically.

my second pc mod. i had been thinking for some time about doing this. was apprehensive but i decided to just take the leap. went ahead and got me a duoorb. wasnt sure it would fit in my shuttle but bought it anyway.

after 30 minutes of painstakingly removing the old cooler and cleaning my 8800gt

still running tests to confirm temp differences but so far so good. ati tool is doing the artifact scan for 30mnts now and load temp does not go above 58. with case off gpu core temp does not go above 55! far cry from the mid 70's i used to get with the stock cooler
its not quiet though i can tell u that, but not too loud either. i'd say same noise as the stock cooler on 50-60 percent

gpu core im using ati tool to monitor temps. lowest idle temps so far ive seen is 39c early in the am with my windows open! this duoorb is unbelievable

ah ok...coz i got no problems with my GPU core, but i noticed almost 10c ang difference sa GPU diode

what program are you using to monitor your temps diay? kay sa ati tool naa temp for gpu then naa sad temp of temp chip, den naa sad mga 8c difference bet the two with the temp chip being lower

For nvidia cards, Rivatuner is the only one thats accurate by using the NVthermal dll as the data provider, everest reports 10~15c lower in GPU temps.
