i heard this from a local AM station. as per Gov Gwen, isagol 60% rice ug 40% camote. Mo-try nya ko ani ky lami kno...

Camote is more nutritious than rice and has less blood sugar convertibles. Take note mga diabetics...hehe

and camote can be planted in your own backyard. no need for hectares of land to plant them...also camote is cheap here...do u know that in Europe, camote (sweet potato) is much more expensive than any ordinary potato?

another nutritious rice alternative daw is "pandegulay", a pandesal made from wheat flour and kalabasa flour.

IF WE ARE LOOKING for ways to increase rice production, why not also find ways to diversify our eating habits? instead of just eating rice as a staple, why not search for other alternatives that could be cheaper and more nutritious?

take note: dili pareho ang "kamote" ug "kamoteng kahoy".

Kamote is sweet potato (scientific name Ipomoea batatas).

Kamoteng kahoy or balanghoy you are referring to is cassava (scientific name Manihot esculenta Crantz ).
