its 2012(ish) notebook technology that enables the user to choose which GPU to use, that means if you are running in battery your system would use Low powered GPU so it would save power, if you are running a application that requires heavy GPU processing it would shift to a more powerfull but power hungry GPU

for example on Lenovo it is called Switch Graphics (Intel/ATI) the computer chooses which gpu to use based from power plan or power source if i use Photoshop it automatically switch to ATI... there is also sa NVIDIA ani though not familliar about it...

if di jud mapugngan to update, disable the dedicated gpu and use the low power normally intel hd.... otherwise good luck sa BSOD... windows 10 dont support hybrid GPU, according to them problema nana sa manufacturer sa laptop... and most laptop manufacturer dont have any plan to make updated driver for windows 10, mostly windows 8.1 ra kutob then dili pa stable..

My laptop has Hybrid GPU (NVIDIA 9xxx series & INTEL HD 5xxx Graphics) never had a problem with BSOD or compatibility issues using these 2 switchable graphics. I think depende sa GPU version nga supported sa Windows 10. I don't think Hybrid GPU causes problems but we know that Windows 10 had numerous issues with both hardware and software. I also assumed Manufactures had tested 100% that their machine will run smoothly on Windows 10.

Had searched some related issues and solutions using hybrid GPU on windows 10.

NVIDIA is more proactive sa ilaha driver than ATI... is laptop rated Win 10?

Not sure if you notice but on win 7 you can manually select which GPU to use... on win10 its automatic based from power plan... but some application cant detect it...

@salbahis: YES I can manually choose which graphic I want to use either the powerful Nvidia GPU or the Intel GPU. I wonder why yours is automatic or maybe its ATI.

YES correct, Nvidia is more proactive in their drivers and updates.

    Thanks
