    I know what you beleive. But you're a SEPARATED/EXCOMMUNICATED Catholic. There's a difference.

so are you sure that the Church's speculation about Freemasonry is true? what if they are the doing doing the "FREAKY THING"...not the Masons...
I think we can judge by the kind of rational argument we see put forward. And so far, the arguments I've been getitng from the freemason side are just out of touch with reality. You even have one freemason here who thinks he can speak for the Vatican!!! And this is despite the very clear pronouncements from the Vatican that contradict what he is saying!!!

    Now THAT is freaky.

Apparently you're pretending not to see the official excommunications that have been decreed by the Catholic Church. Maybe if you tried reading the posts... that would help dispel the ignorance.

u dnt have the right to excomunicate me...harhar...
The Church does. Please don't pretend you don't know that.

ur a one sided person... you think that you know more about Freemasonry than us...duuuhh?...pa swito2x effect...
Now you're resorting to a desperation tactic... when you can't come up with an argument or evidence, attack the person. Yeah, really smart.

Here's something so you WON'T have an excuse to pretend you don't know that Catholic s who become freemasons are excommunicated.

    Excommunication
    http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05678a.htm

In that article you will find this specific excommunication:

    (4) "Those who become members of the Masonic sect, of the Carbonari, or of other similar sects that plot either
openly or secretly against the Church or legitimate authorities; all who countenance these sects in any way whatever, and
finally, all who do not inform against the occult chiefs or leaders, i.e. until they have made such denunciations." Certain
associations are prohibited because of their evil or dangerous object; this article deals only with those to which it is
forbidden to belong under pain of excommunication latæ sententiæ. These are known by their aim, which is to plot against
the Church or legitimate authorities, obviously by illicit or criminal means; this excludes at once purely political groups. It
matters little whether or not these societies exact secrecy from their members, though the element of secrecy constitutes
an unfavourable presumption. The article names two of these sects, the Freemasons and the Carbonari; to these we must
add the Fenians (Holy Office, 12 Jan., 1870). There are four prohibited American societies: the Independent Order of Good
Templars (Holy Office, 9 Aug., 1893), the Odd Fellows, the Sons of Temperance, and the Knights of Pythias (Holy Office,
20 June, 1894), but not under pain of excommunication. In regard to the sects of which our article treats, three distinct
acts incur excommunication: the inscribing of one's name as a member, the positive favouring of the sect as such, and
failure to denounce the occult leaders. For this last act censure is not incurred if the leaders be not occult, or if they be not
known with sufficient certainty. The denunciation, if imperative, must be made within a month; once it is made the
excommunication is no longer reserved, and one is in a condition to receive absolution from any confessor without further
    formality.

Try reading the article. It won't bite.

And so do you admit then that the Church HAS made it clear that Cathoics who become freemasons are excommunicated? Let's stick to the facts. A simple "yes" or "no" will do.

Like I said, you're again engaging in a desperation tactic because you've run out of arguments. Stick to the facts and don't get personal. It only makes you look bad. This isn't about you or me. It's about the truth. It's something you have to face sooner or later, you know.

and please please...how many times do the members here tell you not to post some articles, its useless...period
It's only useless if you want to hide the truth.

@omad - i think you need invitation to get inside the lodge...but archer and blackwidow can better confirm this

@archer - hala ka ex communicated na ka...kauban na mo ni springfield....anyway kaguol ba nimo bro...ex communication is another catholic dogma against the teachings and wisdom of Christ ( i know ako na sad ma lecture ani sunod...ambot sad jud nako why i can't just keep my mouth shut like omad does) ....Jesus said if you have 100 sheep...mawala ang usa....to leave the 99 and look for the one lost sheep....another parable is the Prodigal Son...nga nibalik sa loving fold sa father...gi pistahan .....nya how can ex communication be in accordance to these stories? well i know the answer...quote the Catholic Book of Truths and then you will see how you have displeased God...and why should God want you in his kingdom kon you choose to stray away...etc etc etc....na hala popcorn pa!!

asa na lagi ang thread starter oi...ngano gi allow man ni nga mahimong religion debate...nga unta principles of freemasonry ang topic...kuryoso unta ra ba kaayo ko ....

Nice fantasy, Gwyn. Kindly show me where Christ said what you claim. You can't, right? Is this just your version of the "spirit of the law"?

I can show you the verses where Christ said to cast out those who stubbornly and obstinately refused to listen to the Church. So I think it's fair to ask that when YOU make such claims, you should be able to back them up as well.

Yes. You have to knock first.

    "Brotherly Love:
How a man chooses to practice his personal religious beliefs is left entirely up to him, but Freemasonry recognizes the strong bond which unites all people under One Creator. Our members include men from a wide range of religious backgrounds, but each of them shares a commitment to this important principle."

I think this is the main principle that Manny refers to as INDIFFERENTISM. It puts all religion as equal, and one is accepted as long as he believed in One Creator (whatever His name is).

I think Masons may also believe in Creationism or Intelligent Design.

Religion unites and divides. Many wars were fought because of religion. Masons were believed to be forerunners of religious freedom and liberties and/or religious tolerance. World peace!

But committed Christians joining free masonry are prone to compromise.
