Caguioa out for the rest of the All-Filipino tourney

Barangay Ginebra will be without Mark Caguioa for the rest of the tournament after team officials confirmed Sunday night that rehabilitation of Caguioa's knees will take longer than expected.

Ginebra coach Jong Uichico admitted that he spoke to Caguioa two weeks ago, and the Kings' top scorer said he was advised by renowned doctor Steve Lombardo that it would take at least six weeks to get both his injured knees completely healed.

Buhain: We have not received protest letter

Is the Games and Amusements Board pulling its punches?

The GAB, the one in charge supervising professional sports in the country, including the Philippine Basketball Association, has not made any action on the controversial game between San Miguel Beer and Air21.

Olympian Eric Buhain, now chairman of GAB, told Standard Today that the PBA has not formally referred the matter to his office.

PBA halfway through the eliminations

At the halfway point of the 2008-2009 KFC PBA Philippine Cup, we have been showered by some of the closest matches we have ever seen. Blowouts seem to be out of fashion and overtimes are the new trend. The teams are so closely matched that the fourth to tenth-ranked teams in the standings are separated by a win.
