in defense to my posts... which obviously hurt some photographers here... first off, i ask forgiveness to those pipol/photographer/model it may have hurt... sorry guys from the bottom of my heart...

as what makusama said, if i may quote some ...

we photographers shoot for free or even pay from our wallets to have models (subjects) that look good in pictures and sacrifice a lot of time for us to have the perfect setting, mood, angle, lighting, and getting the best out of our subject all in the sake from learning from all of this and improving our photography.
i agree with all the statements above... you have done everything was said in this posts, but....

how would a photographer learn from their mistakes and improve their photography and grow, if no person would criticize his/her work? and all you will hear is "Wow, nice photo", "beautiful shot", "great", "nice lighting", "beautiful model" when in fact its not and there are some flaws to it... abi kay free, lingaw2x and shoot2x raman, dili na diay ninyo tarongon og shoot? you shud have think otherwise kay free model gud ni siya and the best things in life are free man di ba? at least what you learned or applied on this photoshoot ma apply ninyo kung muabot na situation nga moshoot namo for a magazine or for a models folio or kanang mga bigatin na nga shoots... or you might come across in the future the same situation, lighting condition at least kahibaw namo unsaon.. ayt? ...

i may not be in the authority to say those words or "bad comment"(if you call it that way), but at least you might have used it to your advantage and do better on your next shoot... ayt?

the model is not always the problem(gawas og magpa premadonna na siya) but the its one who's looking at the viewfinder and presses the shutter, no matter how ugly or beautiful he/she maybe, you (as a photographer) should find an angle and that will make him/her look good and beautiful... the model just waits for your instructions on what to do (specially on this case)... you shud be the one in control on every situation that you may encounter... ayt?

anywayss....... again i apologize if i may have hurt some of you... i will just shut my keyboard off and better lurk silently nalang.... peace to all...

**shuts the keyboard off and lurks silently**

-hehehe I was not referring to you... I also agree that comments and critic are needed BUT only when asked for (this is not a rule of law but common courtesy lang). As for your question on how to improve your photography and grow, if no person would criticize his/her work? well... they/ we arent blind are we? self examination lang na... IMHO false praises are a waste of typing energy and gives false hope but unsolicited critics can sometimes be worse. For me learning stops when you are contented with what you have...

unsolicited critic?... once you post your shots in a public forum like this... expect na lang gyud ka daan that someone will criticize your shots (positive or negative, solicited or unsolicited)... if your not ready for an "unsolicited critic" then don't post your shoots at a public forum at all.... ayt?? and self examination is not enaf coz there is always a tendency that you'll be bias towards your shots... as what they say "PHotography is subjective"... heck, someone even challenge radiostar to shoot it in his own "dark style" of photography (what radiostar was saying was only "dili man siya guapa") and everybody reacted ato nga single post, is that the proper way to accept criticisms?

as for everybody here's my "unsolicited critic" about your shots(here's how i see it, my first impressions kumbaga) ako nalang gyud ni isulti puslan man way nagmahal... :

    1. some of the shots are not properly exposed. Choca's shoots are better in terms of exposure (and to think she is using SLR and not DSLR)
    2. lighting is not flattering sa model. enroll at Burokhulis "Strobing in a bag".
    3. I don't see a reason why you would let the model climb a tree in a two piece bikini as if she is a monkey, and you are just below her waiting for her to throw a banana at you... and besides naa mo sa dagat and yet gamay ra ang mga shots ninyo nga naa siya sa dagat or sa shore.
    4. Some photos look like as if she is an abu sayaf or a terrorist hiding at a building waiting for her victim to pass by and kill it with a single bullet (tight cropping would have work).
    5. mas nindot pa pagka shot ang frog kaysa sa model...
    6. only a single photo caught my eye... kato glabyog sa model ang iya buhok sa sa dagat.. nice to siya, ganahan ko ato..
    7. ang gisul-ob sa model nga two piece? it doesn't fit her, it does not compliment here curvatures, tambok siya tan-awon...

again, im not a "pro" photographer, but a newbie and still learning about this craft... you may take it in a bad way but its what i see sa inyo photos... some of it are bit too harsh for you to take... i ask for an apology daan...

i don't want to take this post negatively(as if your thinking nanghambog ko, pero maayo untag dili ) as i've said... im still a newbie, so pareha ra ta... im still learning pa sad aning photography(bag-o palang ko naka DSLR camera)... sa akong mga posts there are some useful things you can pick up man sad... and usa pa sad mahadlok na ko mokoyog og photoshoot ninyo kay expected gyud "all eyes will be on me"... hehehehe

well, i guess i've really hurt some of the photographers "ego" here.... so sorry sa inyong tanan ... peace sa inyo tanan...

**waiting for someone to take out their guns and shoot me to death** waaahehehehe
