For me the Rice Crisis is not only on the Philippines.. its a worldwide crisis.. since China is now a modernize city.. there rice fields are now converted to buildings and commercial zone.. that is one factor tat there is a shortage of Rice in the world..

I seriously doubt there is a rice crisis. I think it's just a media hype. Or someone in the government is making up stories to cover up something really big. Like they always do.

OK, granted she didn't ask for it, but i don't think it's a good idea to even mention that mere idea. her congressmen allies are trying to mention these things without even asking her if she wants it. 1 p i didn't say she asked for it. I just meant she doesn't need it....

agree gyud lko nimo bro, kay ang mga igsoon intawon nato na walay swerte maski unsaon nila pagkugi walay opportunity para nila, maglisod gyud provide para sa ilang pamilya. hinaot ang atong mga igsoon na maayo pagkabutang makasabot sa ilang situation.

if you ask the rice sellers/importers/negosyante, there is really no rice shortage, the rice shortage is only with the NFA.

the imported rice sold by NFA is cheap because its already subsidize by the gov't, so they are selling it almost "at cost". selling it at cost means the gov't is paying out of their own coffers for the distribution and maybe the importation expenses.

what happen was, when rice price went up, NFA cannot buy them easily because they have price limits, and rice prices were beyond those limits already, so they were either waiting for the price to go down or they were trying to find cheap rice of which they found none.

on the other hand; who benefits from NFA rice? its only the "poor locals" and the NFA licensed suking tindahan that can buy them, they are registered or endorsed by their respective barangays. Now, this people saw an opportunity, when NFA rice was just half the price sold by the ordinary importer/negosyante, they readily bought out all the NFA stocks to sell this to the open market or "black market" at a higher profit but at a lower price than the importers/negosyante.

now who created the shortage?
