alright now everything is settled, I need help & input from both of you (Cholo & Springfield) since both of you are well verse in Modding & the like. Anyway... I traded my Baby 03 SE-R SpecV...to a 07 Nissan Quest S. ( Due to pressure from the kids). Now I wanna keep my monthly a little low thats why I bought the "S" not the high end "SE". But the S model got a DVD package, power lift gate, power doors, Tire pressure monitor, VDC, Traction Control etc..etc.. except I hate the Rims. I like the 17' Rims from the SE model...so I called up Nissan Parts & Service in my locality.
They told me that that would'nt be possible due to fact - that it will disrupt the "Tire Pressure Monitor", The Traction Control & the VDC. I was like huhWhat I know is that it does'nt affect the VDC & Traction Control but the "Tire Pressure Monnitor" could be...And they say that if you change it you have to buy the Tire Pressure Monitor on each Tires.. which is $200.00
Guyz.. I need help. Are they correct? I tried looking for websites & forums from Stillen, Vplace & Freshalloy...nothing there that has a topic about the 07 Nissan Quest & the like. I want to buy & install the SE model Rims & Tires. And I need help/advice & inputs on this pleasee............
Thanks

@ SPEC V .... I went to NISSANUSA official website and I tried to BUILD a NISSAN QUEST based on the NISSNA QUEST S , they dont offer options of upgrading or upsizing the wheels from 16 inch to 17 inch wheels from the SE model . I am assuming that because the TIRE PRESSURE of the 16 inch is different from the 17 inch , it will not properly read the pressure provided by the vans feature of TIRE PRESSURE MONINTOR in case you are low on pressure or flat .
Kabalo naka sa mga technology karon sa mga new automobiles . The following are the explanation of the standard options you have provided :
VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)*
The Quest is available with Vehicle Dynamic Control. An array of sensors "reads" if your Quest is moving from its steered path and responds immediately to help compensate for understeer or oversteer, in order to help keep you out of trouble.
TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
Traction Control System (TCS)
This refined technology helps limit wheelspin during acceleration, helping to give you a better grip on the road and on slippery surfaces.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Keep an eye on tire pressure with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), located inside on the Information Center. TPMS will help maximize tire longevity and increase performance.

So that is my judgement na dili pwede i upsize ang wheel nimo bai tungod kay every model has a specific function programmed only to that specific option . Like sa SE na models , naka program mga features nila para ra pod sa 17 " na wheel and btw I dont find it a need to change your wheel ... mas ganahan nuon ko sa 5 spoke style sa S model , similar sa BLITZ wheels hehehe .

SPRINGFIELD is right,.....
but it is possible to put some SE rims on ur Quest
in every upgrade there's a down side to it,... "we all know that"
in ur case,... putting some SE rims on ur Quest S with the original sensor will lead to inaccurate reading to ur TPMS (thats if theres dif'rent sensor's for dif'rent size of rims or tires,.. ur gonna have to look into dat,..)
if its the same sensor,.... there's gotta be a way to program ur TPMS for some 17" rims
another way is to take off the sensor and disable ur TPMS (i dont know if u wanna do that)
i like how the SE rims look
datz a koo Pathfinder u got,... why dont u just put some rims on that
by the way,... how much is a set of SE rims w/ tires
spec v adto ka e.b.?
ybk34 will wait for the mAJority![]()
@ Cholo - Thanks for the advice & inputs on this matter. Looks like Im gonna stick w/ the OEM Rims. Mah New baby is a 06 Xterra SE 4X4...it looks similar to Pathfinder....even my neighbor sayzz that it looks like an Armada..(god....wish I could afford an Armada). Yeah...I like my OEM Rims & tires of my Xterra...it too also has a Tire Pressure Monitor.
About the SE 17' Rims...I was told it is around 250++ a piece...kinda expensive.. huh. I dont know if the rep was talking about the 17' or the 19'. There is a 19' Rims for the 07 Quest SE; I think that is the Navigation Package special.
Again..Thanks for the advice for both You & Springfield.
