Or is it the other way around?

After all, the military would not conduct offensive military operations should there be no insurgents in the area. The enemies of the State even has the nerve to state that they are winning the hearts and minds of the people when they are the cause of government's declaration of all-out war.

The government tried to convince them for so many years. The government tried their very best to discuss the matter through peace negotiations. But then, the NPAs continue with their attacks even if their political arm sits on the negotiating table for peace talks. Such is treacherous, just as treacherous as they have attacked the soldiers assigned in Mt. Mayon who were about to provide relief operations with the evacuees.

The people knew better than simply stating that they are for the rebels. They wanted a peaceful life ahead of them.

NDF seeks resumption of talks with government

ALARMED at the spate of extrajudicial killings, the National Democratic Front on Thursday called for the resumption of peace talks with the government to address pressing issues on human rights.

In a statement from Utrecht, the Netherlands, where the NDF is headquartered, Luis Jalandoni, NDF chairman, said the peace negotiations should resume to discuss the roots of the armed conflict.

He said the government should also put a stop to the extrajudicial killings and adhere to the Comprehensive Agreement on the Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

“The NDFP reiterates its call for the resumption of peace negotiations directed at addressing the social roots of the armed conflict and demands that the GRP stop the political killing and abductions of legal activists and civilians, and comply with the comprehensive agreement and the mutually acceptable principle of national sovereignty contained in the Hague Joint Declaration,” he said.

Jalandoni said the NDF welcomes Amnesty International’s report on the status of human rights in the country, especially its recommendation for the government to comply with the agreement.

    The military's latest gimmick.

    DISCO in the barrios.

The military is sponsoring disco in barangays, complete with live band and scantily dressed women.

They are bringing immorality and decadence to the barangay folks.
