The slow pacing in the early parts almost took a toll on my patience and I was absolutely sure, this
could not surpass the cleverly written whodunnit that was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Plus there's a lot of the magical mythos you have to follow to truly get into the plot.
But as I read on and eventually finished the book, I found out that while Half Blood Prince was an
excellent piece of literature, Deathly Hallows follows it up and brings closure to that book and surpasses
it in quality and entertainment level by miles.
The whodunnit aspects of Book 6 manifest into a "Why
done it?" in Book 7. Just to be purposely vague for this potential spoiler, denouement takes place for the character, one of the most hate-able characters in the books, and the most debated concerning his true
nature. I believe the controversy of his goodness or villainy has been around since Book One. Since Day One. And Rowling had always repeatedly teased as to believe in his antagonism but redeem him in take
all those tainting notions away. In Deathly Hallows, she does that for the last time, and some of the most
shocking, and also touching revelations on the matter take place.
I would like to applaud J.K. Rowling for completing her saga over the span of these 10 years, and I truly admire the cleverness of her plotting and how everything fell into their proper places during the final year of Harry Potter. I hope Rowling does not resign, but will continue to enchant us with literature just as magical as her 7-part epic.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - 5/5
