^OKC has a better record than the Clippers. for KD to win the MVP, the Thunder must not only finish with the NBA's best record, but they also have to win the season series against the Clippers or at the very least, tie it(they're down 1-0 against the Clips). if they loose the season series against the Clippers even if they finish with the best record, that award is going to CP3 regardless of KD's individual numbers. MVP candidates can't lose to other MVP candidates.

which is why Brooks should never rest both KD and Russ just to be safe. he can do it the way Phil did with Michael and Scottie where one of them would always be on the court.

Actually the Thunder is basically just the same last season, if not better! It was quite evident they would have to give up either Ibaka and Harden and let's be honest, the way Harden was playing he deserves to ask more money... The Thunder couldn't afford to go over the luxury tax with a small market city like OKC... Ibaka is still actually improving this season and still has tremendous upside... You cannot compensate height nor a defensive presence he brings to the table... I wouldn't blame OKC is they opt for Ibaka with the way he played in last season's playoffs and how Harden disappeared in the Finals... Ibaka is averaging 14.3ppg 8.4rpg 2.8bpg and shooting 56.7% this season from the field againts 9.1ppg 7.5rpg and 53% FG last season... Not to mention a 13% improvement from the charity stripe... Ibaka's value and improvement are just off the roof! Hey, Harden is gonna' be an All-Star this season and the Thunder is tops in the West so it all worked out for the better for both parties! I couldn't be happier for Harden and the Thunder is the best team in the West even though I am a fan of Lob City...

Actually Harden was averaging 16.8ppg last season while K-Mart is averaging 15.3ppg this season which is not far off...

Russ' scoring might have slightly dipped this season but his assist has gone up from 5.5 to 8.5 this season, having less TO and more steals... So he is maturing as a player and growing as a leader alongside KD for this ridiculously young ang talented OKC team... 21.9ppg 5.2rpg 8.5apg 2.1spg is some crazy sh!t numbers man! Where the f* can you find someone who drops those numbers!

KD is the unchallenged alpha dog in OKC but you just could not help but appreciate the value of Mr. Westbrook and how he has improved his game ang maturity... Now if anyone says he is a selfish player, needs a bitch slap across the face! He is no Kobe The Rapist Bryant!

KD is my pick for the MVP this season... He is just a whole different animal this year that he has tasted Finals defeat... It was pure joy watching him massacre the Rapers...

KD, Russ and the Thunder will continue to dominate the West for years to come... It is now the age of the Clips and OKC to own the West... Gone are the Mavs, the Spurs (as much as I love Pop, Timmy and Manu) and the Rapers...

they could have actually kept Harden. I forgot the reason why he didn't resign, but it was posted way back in the thread. also Ibaka is becoming a diva imo, Perkins has to constantly keep him in check. however, he has improved his game that much is true and as a result OKC has an offence rating of 113 this season, 4 more than 109 last season. would have been more potent if they kept Harden since Harden doesn't just give the team scoring, he can also make plays for other guys unlike Martin.

also Westbrook's assist may not be as valuable as you would think. he's going to get high assists per games because he has the ball almost all the time, not to mention he has guys like KD and Ibaka who are pretty good offensive players(especially the former) to pass to when he does decide to pass and not wildly drive into the lane or shoot a jumper with 21 seconds left on the shot clock. data also shows that his team actually shoots a higher percentage off assisted field goals when he's off the court compared to when he's on the court. although the team is scoring more when he's on the court because of his scoring, but not his playmaking.

in any case, despite Westbrook's shortcomings(he's also shooting only 41 percent this season) and losing Harden, OKC is the best team in the West and perhaps the entire league mostly because of Ibaka's improvement and KD's brilliance. the gap between him and Bron is very small now, and what's scary is he's still developing while Lebron has reached his peak.
